64 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | DECEMBER 2020 | David Deal passed on to the Lord on September 19 at the age of 78 after a long battle with cancer. Dave was born and raised in Massachusetts. In 1962, he married his wife Louise and raised three children. They moved to California in 1979 and he was employed by American Airlines until he retired in 2003 when they moved to Sun Lakes. Dave loved playing golf, bocce, bowling, and going to the casino. He leaves behind his wife of 58 years, three children, nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He is greatly missed. Morris Netherton peacefully passed away on October 12, 2020. He is survived by Carol, his wife of 60 years. He leaves his children Laurel and Drew and their families. Those of us in Sun Lakes knew Morris for his acting and directing talent. He was a valued member of the former Drama Club. He not only directed several of our performances, but mentored members who wanted to learn all aspects of play production. He developed these skills while attending Maryville College in Tennessee and working in summer stock. There is so much many of us didn't know. Morris had a PHD in Hypnotherapy. He was a pioneer in the study of past- lives therapy, writing and co-authoring a number of books on the subject. He toured all over the world teaching and lecturing. Even after he retired he saw clients and conducted classes in the US and other countries. He was an amazing man. He will be missed for his wonderful sense of humor, wit, and loyalty to his family and friends. Leonard A. Penzo On October 4, 2020, God called his friend, Leonard A. Penzo, 83, back to be with Him. Len was born on April 27, 1937, in Youngstown, Ohio, the son of Anthony and Lucy (Gianini) Penzo. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, where he honorably served as a fighter jet mechanic for six years. After the military, Len moved to Fontana, California, and enjoyed a 37-year career with TRW, initially in transportation logistics, and then as project manager for the Peacekeeper missile. After retirement, he lived in Daytona Beach, Florida, for several years before moving in 2000 to Sun Lakes, where he resided until August, 2019. For more than 25 years, Len enjoyed serving his local community as a reserve police officer with the Fontana Police Department. For several years he also volunteered his services with his local Little League, including a stint as the league President. Len will always be lovingly remembered by his wife of 61 years, the former Judy Scanlon; two children, Leonard Penzo II, and Laura Zaranski; and five grandchildren, Kazimir Zaranski, Solstice Zaranski, Lenik Zaranski, Matthew Penzo, and Lenina Penzo. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Paul Penzo, and sister, Josephine Penzo. Friends we will miss
