50 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | DECEMBER 2020 Check with your club contact to confirm meeting place, date, and time. Women's Evening Bible Study "There is nothing in the world so irresistibly contagious as laughter and good humor." Charles Dickens Today it's cold and rainy. It's a wonderful opportunity to stay indoors, snuggle in a blanket and grab the phone and call a friend. Family and friends are the precious gifts we are given year round. This year has been very difficult for some and challenging for most. But, we are thankful that we are only a click away from email, text, Zoom, YouTube, numerous other tech programs, and my favorite, the phone. We have unique opportunities to stay connected with others. In our Women's Evening Bible Study, we started a new series in November "Loving and Faithful Friendships in the Bible." Our first lesson was David and Jonathan's friendship. We learned three truths from this extraordinary friendship: 1. Friendship springs from a strong bond. (1Samuel 18:1-5). 2.Friendship shares mutual affection. 3. Friendship demands selfless sacrifice. We will continue this series in December and into the New Year. We will not be taking a break. So plan to Zoom with us on the first and third Thursday of December and throughout the year 2021. I truly enjoy having our gatherings on Zoom, hearing your voices and seeing your beautiful smiles. Thank you to every faithful woman who has participated in our group during a year that had so many unexpected and unsettling changes to our normal routines. You are in my prayers always. Our stability comes from the creator of the universe and the WORD of truth. Our group is non-denominational and I encourage every woman of Four Seasons to give us a try. We are friendly and loving and will give you a warm welcome. You may have a concern about Zoom but I will help you navigate it and answer your questions. "I will sing the Lord's praise for he has been good to me." Psalms13:6 Merry Christmas and happy holidays to you and yours! ~ Mary Baer, baerhuggy@icloud.com Life Guide Bible Study Merry Christmas! Blessings to all of you as we celebrate the first coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Remember the message of Philippians 2:5-11: "Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every Knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." We encourage you to maintain communication with each other by phone and email. Please share any prayer requests or praise reports. If you feel comfortable, consider meeting in smaller groups in outdoor settings as the weather permits. We will keep in touch in the coming months and keep you all in our prayers. Please contact Doc or Letha Sellars with any questions or comments at (951) 797- 3302 or docletha72@gmail.com. ~ Doc Sellars As 2020 winds down, we are incredibly grateful for all the stalwart attendees at our Friday morning Bible studies. These past few months we have been studying the Book of Isaiah. We finished off October with Isaiah Chapters 44 and 45, which name Cyrus, King of Persia, as the deliverer of the Jews from Babylonian captivity 140 years before it actually took place. We also learned why God referred to Cyrus as "My shepherd" in 44:28, which prophecy was given over a century and a half before Cyrus was even born. The Greek historian, Herodotus, records the wonderful story of how Cyrus miraculously escaped death at the time of his birth, and was raised by a shepherd who wasn't even his father. This, however, fulfilled God's Word to Isaiah in a most unusual way. God opened doors for Cyrus so that he could subdue nations, giving him the anointed opportunity to not only free the Israelites from Babylonian captivity, but to subsidize the reconstruction of Jerusalem and its temple. We will complete the study of Isaiah on Dec. 18, and will resume our teleconference study on Jan. 8, with a new six-week series entitled "Arise" which will be much more interactive and will be conducive to thoughtful participation by everyone in the study. In the interim, I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and are especially grateful for our health, strength, and our very life. We actually tried to meet physically (with masks and social distancing) in the Ballroom the first part of November, but the resultant survey was 60 to 40 percent for keeping safe and maintaining the status quo. And then, Four Seasons had to shut down anyway, so there you go. If any Four Seasons residents are interested in participating, please give me a call at (951) 922-6829 or email me at egcellent@ msn.com. ~ Eileen Gilbert-Antoine "Believeā€¦" Women's Bible Study
