FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | DECEMBER 2020 9 By Cindy Graves Hopefully by the time you get this Breeze issue the community will be sparkling with holiday lights and a little more cheerfulness. This holiday will be a bit different than what we're used to. I won't be run quite as ragged as I usually am in December from all of the galas and dances and parties that we're used to having (sniff, sniff ). Honestly, I wish I could look forward to being completely toasted by Jan. 1. Weirdly enough, this will also be my first New Year's Eve in 13 years at home and not at The Lodge (sniff, sniff ). It's been a crazy year and I need to quit sniveling about what was and continue the hopeful reinventing of new ways of doing things. So in that vein, let me tell you some new things that we're doing to bring a little smile and diversion into your life. First of all we're going to be celebrating Hanukkah as a community on Wednesday, Dec. 9 at 6 pm. Cruise on down to the front of The Lodge and drive around the roundabout while Jewish Social Club members light their beautiful six-foot Menorah, play some songs, and pass out some little goodies to passers-by. Hanukkah is known as "The Festival of Lights" so let's all come together as we continue to light up our little corner of the world! The next thing we're looking forward to is our Holiday Zoom Happy Hour on Friday, Dec. 11 at 4 pm. This event will once again be starring our lovely Lodge attendant and former Chili's bartender, Alicia Rodriguez. She's going to teach us all how to dazzle our holidays with specialty cocktails to awe and amuse our family and friends. She's an absolute joy to watch and she always pulls out some helpful tips and tricks from her mixology bag. The Zoom link will go out on the Daily Report and Activities Blast on that Friday. Thank you to all who shared great comments about the Halloween Happy Hour. I'm glad some of you were able to use some of the drinks she presented at your own little celebrations. On Saturday, Dec. 12, the secret judges for the Home Decorating Contest will be driving around to determine the winners for this sparkly contest! If you want to be in the contest please be sure to sign up at Rachel.stone@ fsresidential.com by Wednesday, Dec. 9, so that we can give the judges a list of all the participating homes. We all appreciate the effort that so many are making to share the Four Seasons holiday spirit through lights. Back by popular demand, we'll be having a Holiday Sip and Paint. The event is happening on Tuesday, Dec. 15 at 1 pm via Zoom. If you'd like to participate in this painting event, the pre-drawn canvas and paint kits are still only $10! Please have your money paid to the Art Barn via Susan Turley at (909) 633-0417 by Friday, Dec. 11. The painting is a beautiful winter landscape. Kwanzaa will be celebrated with a lovely display in The Lodge so be sure to stop by and recognize this encouraging holiday celebrated by many in our neighborhood. To everyone, I hope and pray that you have a bright, joyful, and memorable holiday. Let's all look forward to good things ahead in 2021. I can't wait to see you in person at The Lodge!
