| THE COLONY NEWS | DECEMBER 2020 | 5 HOA NEWS Nov. 2, 2020: Street Repair and Maintenance Work on Colony Drive JB Bostick, an asphalt paving company, will be finishing up the Street Repair and Maintenance Work on Colony Drive between Calle Alpina and Corte Sabio starting Monday, Nov. 3 [sic] through Wednesday, Nov. 5 [sic]. They will be raising the sewer and water utility covers, as well as replacing a concrete cross gutter on Corte Cajan. We have been informed that the work will not affect the normal flow of traffic; however, for your safety, please observe any traffic control measures that may be present. Nov. 1, 2020: Violations Please be advised that effective Nov. 1, 2020, the Board will be reinstating its violation process. Residents, guests of residents, and vendors providing services to residents, found to be in violation of the governing documents will be cited accordingly. For example, those who commit moving violations and parking violations will be cited. To avoid being cited, please be mindful of, and adhere to, the Association's rules and regulations and other governing documents. Oct. 30, 2020: 2020-2021 Directory The 2020-2021 "Official" Colony Directory published by Farmer Publications has arrived! You should receive your copy at your home on Saturday, Oct. 31, 2020. The new directory is beautiful and full of informative information on senior services, retirement and life care, emergency preparedness, community rules and regulations, business classifications and resident names and telephone numbers. Residents who completed the Colony Directory update "postcard" were included in the directory. If you were omitted or there was a discrepancy, we sincerely apologize. Any corrections to the directory will need to be made next year during the 2021 directory postcard updating process. Oct. 22, 2020: Closure Update The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) announced on Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2020 that Riverside County will move back to the state's purple tier, which is the most restrictive tier that requires several types of businesses to move outside. This change prohibits the use of indoor Fitness Center Facilities. Unfortunately, The Colony Fitness Center will be closed, effective Saturday, Oct. 24, until the state allows for such businesses to reopen indoors. The following amenities remain open: The Pool Facility is open for use seven (7) days a week (without reservation) as follows: 1. Mon.-Fri. 6 am to 8 pm - Lap Swimming and Personal Exercise 2. Mon., Wed., Fri. 11:30 am to 12:15 pm - Water Aerobics 3. Mon., Wed., Fri. 12:15 pm to 10 pm - General Swim 4. Tues., Thurs. 11 am to 10 pm - General Swimming 5. Sat., Sun. 6 am to 10 pm - General Swimming The sport courts are open for use seven days a week as follows: 1. Sun. through Sat. 6 am to 10 pm - Tennis 2. Sun. through Sat. 6 am to 10 pm - Paddleball 3. Sun. through Sat. 6 am to 10 pm - Pickleball Santiago's Hair and Nail Salon: By appointment only (951) 698-1169. Unfortunately, the facilities are limited to resident use only until further notice. No guests are permitted at this time. Please be reminded it is everyone's responsibility to protect the health of others and to mitigate the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Please do not use the community facilities if you or anyone in your household has a fever or any other symptoms associated with COVID-19. Also, please refrain from coming to the community facilities if you have been around someone who has tested positive until you have passed the 14 day incubation time frame.
