Founders Duplicate Bridge Friday Duplicate Bridge We are approaching the end of 2020 and the coronavirus still keeps us from playing live Bridge. When will this end? Meanwhile we keep busy with various activities and some online Bridge games. In the coming months, we will report on the well being of our members, how they are coping with the crisis, how they spend their time, what activities they enjoy, how they keep Bridge in their lives. We urge you to take some time and send a few lines or a paragraph, maybe even a picture to Heidi Kuhn at hpkuhn@aol.com. A few words regarding club business. Our bylaws require yearly elections of Board members. The membership has been informed that all positions are open and been given the opportunity to submit their name for any office. As no replies were received by the deadline of Oct. 31, the current Board members are volunteering to continue their service for the coming year: Phyllis Skall, President, Jack Stanley, Vice President, Barbara Myers, Treasurer and Heidi Kuhn, Secretary. Your Board has approved your treasurer's suggestion that membership dues should be rolled over. No dues for 2021 will be collected from current members. As the year ends, we wish everyone and their loved ones good health, good spirits, a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We offer a Duplicate Bridge game that combines the superior scoring of Duplicate Bridge but also has the friendlier and non- aggressive attitude of home style Rubber Bridge. With Duplicate Bridge, your true opponents are the pairs that hold the same cards as you would rather than your opponents at the table. We are not an ACBL game and for that, we not only offer an extremely reasonable game price of just $2, but also give cash awards to the winners. We are relatively small and have anywhere from five to eight tables. The games are at 1 pm on the second, fourth, and fifth Fridays of the month in Mykonos.
