As we begin December, it's usually appropriate to look back and reflect upon our accomplishments and prepare to enjoy the upcoming holidays. The abundance of so many activities — parties, shopping, and decorating inside and outside our home can sometimes lead to stress as we try to handle all of these undertakings. This year is very different. Our stress involves not being able to enjoy many of these activities and the challenge of being with friends, neighbors, and family in a safe environment. Each of us will have to decide how we will accomplish this. This does not mean we can't enjoy everything December offers us. The Lodge will be beautifully decorated; the golf cart parade will be colorful; and the Angel Tree will remind us of what is important about this time of year — thinking of others and what we can do to help. We are blessed to live in a community where so many people are willing to give their time and energy to help make Four Seasons a great place to live. This is a time to give thanks to the folks who contribute their time to enhance the quality of life here. Despite the difficulty of meeting in person, our volunteer committees have been able to work diligently to keep our community safe and looking great. They have not let the pandemic deter them from their responsibilities. We thank our staff for maintaining our facilities and providing service to our residents. A good example of staff creativity has been the virtual Art Gallery that displays the beautiful artwork of our many talented residents. We thank the Sunshine Team for helping many of us during these many months of restrictive living. As someone has said, "I wish the coronavirus could have started in Las Vegas because what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas." The By-Laws and CC&Rs have been completed and will shortly be made available to all residents for their approval. These are important documents that provide a framework for governing our association. Residents make a difference outside our community, as well. Organizations such as The Food Pantry and Salvation Army can count on our residents who gladly give so much to those in need. 2020 has been unique, providing us with one-of-a-kind memories. Keeping records and making notes related to what we all experienced this year might be worthwhile to do for future family generations. In summary, in spite of the uncertainties we face, let us look upon December as a time for giving, not receiving. Many words can describe this holiday season: Blessings, Celebration, Joy, Rejoice, Peace, Prosperity, Remembrances, Serenity, Love, and Friendship. Choose which ones are most meaningful for you and enjoy this month. We wish you all a joyous and safe holiday, Merry Christmas, Happy Chanukah, and Happy New Year. Message from the Board of Directors 2 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | DECEMBER 2020 | Sincerely, and on behalf of your Board of Directors, Greg Rockvam, Cliff Post, Tony Criscenti, Jim Hatcher, Ken Pounders, and Jerry Hawkins Jim Crase President
