12 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | DECEMBER 2020 | We have arrived at the end of 2020 and anticipate the celebration of holidays and the start of 2021. We look back at some of the accomplishments from this past year: • Converting the pool area to a reclaimed watering system, and with it a need to re-landscape around the pool to adapt to the new system. • Saying good bye to our long time Chair, Carolyn Sripathy and member Mark Nelson, and welcoming Brenda Billson's return to the committee, and our new member Sarah Sweeney. • The completion of a three year restoration project along Four Seasons Blvd., World Cup and around the parking lot and clubhouse. • Attending a Board led ad hoc committee to begin strategic planning for our common areas that are in some places over 15 years old, with suggestions for re-landscaping and plant replacement. • Revisiting our current schedule for tree trimming from a regular one or three year schedule, to a more individualized approach, looking at which trees need trimming this year and which trees can be trimmed subsequent years. • Reviewing approximately 170 proposals for issues such as plant replacements, tree removals, tree trimming, re-landscaping, owner requests, etc. We were challenged this year with the pandemic and certain restrictions, but your Landscape Committee worked hard to address backlogs in requests, and move forward with additional strategic planning. We are scheduled for tree trimming in December, and you will see Artistic Maintenance crews in the East and West Legends, and along the Four Seasons Blvd and World Cup. We thank Artistic for working with us on a plan that looks at trees in a more individualized way, and supporting our efforts in being cost effective and keeping our community beautiful. One of the things you may notice is that some of our trees are "turning" colors, as the weather is cold enough for the trees to change and lose their leaves. Autumn comes a little later in Hemet, and the color changes are always a welcome sight. From Irene Becker: As the chair for the Landscape Committee, I cannot thank each of our members enough for their time, dedication and expertise, in keeping our Four Seasons with a 'five star" look. They are a terrific team! We wish you all well for the coming holidays, and a great start to 2021. The Landscape Committee meets the first Wednesday of the month at 1 pm at The Lodge. Residents are welcome to attend. Landscape Committee Facilities Committee As the year 2020 comes to a close, the Facilities Committee managed to update our community while in competition with the pandemic. Some of our projects were: • Resurface the pool deck, BBQ and Lodge entry • Repaint The Lodge interior • Replace aging bollard lights with new LED fixtures • Replace failing street lamps with new LED heads • Replace parking lot lights with LED fixtures • Add LED lights at pool entry • Add additional LED lights along dark sidewalks • Added new sports equipment • Replaced the windows with sagging inside trim • Purchased additional steps for stage • Repaired termite damage to Lodge • Added two benches along Paseo • Continue with our asphalt sealing • Added bird spikes to sports courts • The dance floor has been cleaned and refinished • Renew with Christmas Kings to light The Lodge and entrance gate • Purchase new lighting to decorate the World Cup gate In 2021 the residents of Four Seasons will be able to return to our Lodge and enjoy the many amenities our community has to offer. Our Lodge will be bright and shiny when it reopens. To all our residents: A Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from the Facilities Committee. SE Corner of FS Blvd and World Cup
