computer club We're on spring schedule, meeting the first and third Thursdays of the month. In July, we begin the summer schedule and meet once a month, on the third Thursday, for July, August and September. All Sun Lakers are welcome to attend our meetings on the first and third Thursdays of the month at 1 pm in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room. Prizes are given away at each meeting. Visit our website at computerclubatsunlakes. org for meeting times, activities, programs, handouts and membership applications. Get extra tickets for the prize drawing there also. Come and see the new Windows 8 computer we have installed. Upcoming Programs (All programs are presented by Jerry Munnelly): June 6: E-mail Part I: What is e-mail, how to use and set up different e-mail addresses. June 20: E-mail Part II: Overview of different types of e-mail, e-mail problems, tips and tricks to keep you safe when sending or receiving e-mail. library advisory comm. We were able to thank our great volunteers at the Library Tea this past month. Their hard work and dedication is always appreciated. If you would like to become part of this group, call Peggy Inman at 845-8609. We would love to have you! As always, we would like to thank everyone for their donations to our three libraries. We appreciate all donations but are especially looking for large print and Westerns. If you have a large number of books to donate, call Anne Reese at 8453775. Don't forget our next big book sale on July 4, from 9 am to 12 pm, or whenever we run out of books. We always offer great deals on gently used items so stop by and have a look! Our book for this month is "Telling the Bees," by Peggy Hesketh. Elderly beekeeper Albert and his neighbor Claire have been estranged for 20 years when he finds her murdered. Unraveling the crime also means revisiting old secrets, lies and regrets. 16 | sun lakes lifestyles | june 2013 | social clubs & groups paisano club A letter of resignation was received from Jan Stapel, First VP and Secretary. Two members have volunteered to be First Vice and Secretary, respectively. The first Vice President will be Caroline Molzan and the Secretary will be Phyllis Frasher. Voting took place during the May meeting for confirmation. Also, Jeanette Cadmus volunteered as Chairman of Decorating Committee with Gisela Hungerle and Pat Pinz assisting her. We thank all of the above named people for volunteering to help make this the enjoyable club we all love. June's meeting will feature the International Dancers performing Chinese dances, and to keep with the theme, a catered Chinese dinner will be served. The cost will be $12 for club membership and $14 for guests. The July 5 meeting will be a celebration of Independence Day with an all-American game of Bingo. Menu will include hamburgers, hot dogs, baked beans, etc. plus pound cake with berries. Price is $12 pp with guests invited as well, at a price of $14. Paisano members and their friends are invited to Del Mar Racetrack on Thurs., Aug. 15, from 10 am to 7:30 pm. We will start taking sign ups at our next Paisano meeting. The price is $35 and will include deluxe coach service, Club House seating, and programs. Lunch is on your own at the famous Del Mar Sandwich Shop. There is no refund on this excursion; however, you may transfer your reservation. Stay tuned for more information regarding September's event which will be pizza and bocce. And mark your calendars early for our Holiday Party on Dec. 29. Back by popular demand will be Bob Draper's band. Info., Dee Nicoletti, 846-3096.
