PROPOSED RULE AMENDMENT NOTIFICATION Rule changes concerning Golf Course Rules and Regulations PROPOSED RULE CHANGE NOTIFICATION 13-003: The Board reviewed the following proposed amendment, to the Sun Lakes Country Club Homeowners Association General Statement of Rules and Regulations that appear in the Association's 2013 Local Phone Book, Sun Lakes Edition (reference pages 41-42), at its March 20, 2013 open session meeting. The Board will vote upon the proposed amendment at its June 20, 2013 Open Session Meeting, following publication. If the Board votes in favor of the proposed rule change it would go into effect Friday, July 5, 2013. Changes are reflected in bold, italic and underlined print. THE FOLLOWING GOLF COURSE RULES AND ASSOCIATED PENALTIES ARE STRICTLY ENFORCED: 1. All golfers must check in at the Pro Shop prior to teeing off. However, one player may check in their group for shotgun starts. 2. If you begin your round after 5:00PM, or anytime Pro Shop is closed, you must sign the after-hours player's roster located in front of the Pro Shop doors. You must sign in all players in your group, including guests. Any player, annual or not, observed playing without signing the "After Hours Player's Roster" will be charged for that round of golf at the appropriate rate. 3. Players who are physically unable to walk from the cart path to the green must obtain clearance from the Pro Shop staff to drive their carts any closer to the greens. All Applicants must provide evidence of their disability bi-annually, and purchase the approved handicap flag from the Pro Shop. Golf carts must stay on the cart path around tees and greens and on all par 3-golf holes unless the 90-degree rule is posted. 5. Unless walking or playing with an odd number of golfers, all players are required to share a golf cart with a playing partner. Golfers playing less than 9 holes may use individual carts. Golfers with legitimate excuses may request permission to use an individual cart prior to the start of their round of golf from the Pro Shop. 6. All privately owned golf carts must be registered with the Pro Shop or Property Services Department and display the assigned Association registration number, before being driven on the golf course or on any street or Common Area within the Sun Lakes Community. The permit must be placed on the front lower windshield. 7. Pets of any kind are prohibited from being on the golf course and practice facilities. 8. Retrieval of balls hit into water hazards must be accomplished without delaying play. "Fishing" (retrieving multiple balls) is prohibited. 9. Sun Lakes range balls are prohibited from being used on the golf course and/or removed from the driving range. A fine of $25.00 will be imposed for an infraction of this rule. 10. Players must comply with the Sun Lakes Facility Dress Code. 11. All players are required to repair all divots and ball marks. 12. Verbal abuses and/or threats while using the Association's golf facilities are prohibited. 13. Physical confrontations while using the Association's golf facilities are prohibited. 14. All Sun Lakes Country Club Homeowners Association golf course facilities are part of the Association's common areas and are therefore under the direct control and authority of the Board of Directors. 15. Use of any portion of the Association's golf course facilities for non-golf related activities requires the specific approval of the Board of Directors prior to such use. 16. At all time, use of the golf course facilities by residents and their guests is done so at the risk of the individual(s) using the facilities. 17. American flags, mounted on appropriate flag poles, be placed in a holder at the monument, located adjacent to each tee, on each of the two community courses. Flags will be displayed on approved holidays as designated by the General Manager. Placing the flags in holders mounted at each tee will also facilitate installation and retrieval. All Guests must be accompanied by a legal resident at all times while on either of the two courses, practice facilities and the driving range. The following process for violations to be determined after discussion with the BOD The penalties for violations of the above rules are as follows: The penalties for violations of the above rules are as follows: 1st offense – Warning citation 2nd and each subsequent offense within one year of first offense – Scheduling of a Disciplinary Hearing before the Board of Directors Golf Advisory Committee. 3rd offense Hearing before the Master Board of Directors. Exception: Any violation of Rules #12 and/ or #13 will result in the scheduling of a Disciplinary Hearing before the Board of Directors and the possible loss of golf privileges for up to 30 days a fine of up $100 or any other discipline as may be determined legally appropriate.
