Boys & Girls Club Ready for Summer Fun It's almost summer camp time and the Boys & Girls Clubs of the San Gorgonio Pass (BGCSGP) has something for everyone. The Boys & Girls Clubs of the San Gorgonio Pass is a non-profit youth development agency dedicated to its mission: "To inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens." We have served the region's youths since 2006, and have Clubhouses in Banning, Beaumont, Cabazon and Yucaipa. This summer, we offer camp for youth ages 5 to 12 in Banning, location TBD and in Beaumont at Three Rings Ranch Elementary. Camp will run from 7 am to 6 pm and will be $60 per week. Each week will feature a different fun camp theme including Mad Science, Survival Week, Music Mania, Mystery Week and many more. There will also be field trips related to the weekly themes. 10 BEAUMONT NOW | JUNE 2013 Camp will also be offered for teens at our Roosevelt Williams Clubhouse. We have developed a very comprehensive summer program for teen members, to keep them engaged, active and, most importantly, safe and supervised. This summer, teens will enjoy lots of fun and enriching programs at the newly renovated Clubhouse in Banning. Camp starts at noon each day. Featuring programs designed specifically for teens, the club will offer archery, lacrosse, baseball, flag football, music mixing, cooking classes and leadership, art and computer programs. Teens will have the opportunity to participate in community service activities and can receive credit for their community service hours, as required by high schools for graduation. Teens can participate in the Leaders of Tomorrow program, where they will learn short term and long term goal setting, how to fill out college and employment applications, resume writing, and interviewing skills. The program will conclude with a trip to local colleges so that members can ask questions, tour the campuses and get a real life feel of college life. Members can participate at the Teen Club for an annual membership fee of $10. Info., 922-3259.
