54 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JANUARY 2021 Check with your club contact to confirm meeting place, date, and time. We are so excited to begin a new study on Jan. 8! We will begin with an 8-week series entitled "Arise!" Arise! will also be our theme for the 2021 year. Arise to what, you ask? You have to attend the series to find out. We are hopefully going to resume via Zoom, so at least we can see each other's faces! Then, when the vaccine becomes available, we will be able to meet together again, and also what the ladies are already looking forward to: a "hug-fest." We all miss each other, but I have to say, so many of the ladies were so supportive in attending consistently every week last year. I am so grateful to and for all of you, and know you will be blessed for continuing to study the Word each week. The study of Isaiah (66 chapters) in 2020 was valuable in so many ways. Each week we took turns reading verses aloud, and were able to read the entire 66 chapters by Dec. 18. It was quite a feat, as we heard the Lord (through Isaiah) repeatedly chastise the Israelites for their sins and shortcomings, and ultimately allowing the Babylonians to conquer and imprison them. Why? To bring them to humility, repentance, and ultimate return to God and to Jerusalem, the Holy City. There are so many beautiful writings in Isaiah, and in 2018-19 we as a class memorized many of those verses. So what messages does Isaiah proclaim to us today? The same messages the Lord spoke to the Israelites centuries ago: Repent and return to Him, love Him and each other, obey His Word, and praise His Holy Name. Now that it's a new year, we are all going to "Arise!" to the challenges of a new year, and seek to know Him better, study His Word more intently, pray more sincerely, and become all-around better daughters of God. Isaiah26:3 With much thought and prayer I have decided it's time for me to close down our Women's Evening Bible Study. It has brought me much joy to teach God's Word of truth. I will miss it and the lovely ladies who I have taught and have prayed many times for them and their families. It has been a wonderful privilege and I will always be thankful. The New Year brings us so many extraordinary, exceptional blessings. Embrace them. My wish for this year is that you will experience peace, strength and comfort as you faithfully follow his word. I want to share with you this letter that was printed in our local newspaper immediately after the pandemic started. Hopefully, the words will bring you smiles and hope. Reflections In a Time Such As This Faith is the power to overcome adversity and replace it with peace and contentment. Family and Friends is the light at the end of the tunnel. Asking for help is a humbling experience but has long lasting benefits. A friendly wave, cheerful hello, and a heart warming smile tells me more about you than words. There is a creative spirit in all of us but it may take a concentrated effort to find it. Humor goes into the battlefield of difficult times and comes out the victor. Cookies and chocolate is comfort food. Pulling weeds can be cathartic sometimes. In a time such as this I choose patience and thankfulness. ~ Mary Baer, baerhuggy@icloud.com
