FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JANUARY 2021 9 By Cindy Graves Happy New Year! Here we are at the beginning of a new season and hopefully a complete shedding of the old season soon! Gratitude is something that we can carry into any season that we're in and on that note I'd like to thank a few groups of people, including you. First of all, I want to thank the Board of Directors who have been so incredibly supportive and encouraging of all or most of my hare- brained ideas to keep the community engaged. This is obviously the first time we've ever reinvented the Activities Department, so we're never quite sure what is going to fly and what isn't. This is where you come in… thank YOU for participating in events and for sending such nice encouraging notes which help keep our spirits up when we're unsure if we have good ideas or not. I also want to give a huge shout-out to EVERYONE who heeded the call for lighting up the community as a "Grand Illumination." This last December was absolutely the most "illumined" holiday neighborhood decorating that Four Seasons has ever seen! When I drove around at night it really brought tears to my eyes to see that you guys really went over and above to show your community spirit. It was spectacular! I especially want to thank the host of resident woodworkers who let me know that they would be supporting me in building our wooden pylon frames. Their big hearts meant sooo much! Thank you and big hugs to Paul and Sheri Plamondon who spent hours helping my team to string lights on those frames. We have some amazing people here, always ready to lend a hand, including Willis Fagan who was willing to work with me to come up with the pylon design in the first place! It's always nice to borrow expert brains when you really need them. Finally, I want to thank the ever-vigilant and blowing Beaumont winds. They certainly made sure that my team and I got our steps in, picking up and adjusting downed lighting in all of their various forms. How funny that the one year we really wanted to focus on outdoor decorations, we had record winds and power outages! Oh well, everything still worked out in spite of the windy challenges. I guess the wind battle was a good rehearsal for the winds of change coming in 2021. Stay tuned to the emailed Daily Report and the Activities Corner for all of the upcoming events. Please note that you really do want to open up both the Daily Report and the Activities Corner because they contain very different content and you don't want to miss the next exciting promotion or event that we come up with! If you have any ideas or suggestions for events or activities that you want to see happen here at Four Seasons, be sure to shoot me an email at cindy. graves@fsresidential.com. Let's cross our fingers for the best year ever. As soon as we get clearance to open, we're going to make up for all of the in-person partying that we've missed! I hope to see you around The Lodge ASAP! Activities Director Corner
