| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | JANUARY 2021 | 17 golf Cart Club As you know by now, the approval for holding the Holiday Golf Cart Parade on Fri., Dec. 18 was given by the Board on Dec. 9. There was some uncertainty about holding the event given the statewide shutdown in effect at the time. I felt that if everyone wore masks and practiced social distancing (for both the participants and the residents who cheer us on), there would be little risk and, in these trying times, everyone could use a little holiday cheer. So, I would like to thank the Board for their action. As always, we appreciate their continued support. Tracie Rodgers was extremely helpful in helping us through the process! I also need to give a shout out to the Social Committee who have co-sponsored the Holiday, Fourth of July and Halloween Cart Parades. In December, the flag angels, as they have become known thanks to NextDoor, put out flags along World Cup and Four Seasons for Pearl Harbor Day. The flag angels have been providing this service to all 1,200 households and the main roads for a long time (over 1,500 flags) on six or eight special days. Sadly a few of the flag angels have reached a point where it is physically impossible for them to continue. Therefore, we will need some volunteers to take over for one of the routes and a few to provide backup when one or more flag angels cannot perform their duty on one of these days. The job would entail putting out 102 flags and should take about an hour to put them out and about 45 minutes to take up. This route does the flags six times a year. If you can help with this popular and valuable service please call me at (951) 325-8757) or email at mikemcla43@ aol.com), it would be most excellent. ~ Mike McLaughlin
