22 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | JANUARY 2021 | Needle Me Hopefully we all had a safe and happy Christmas, Hanukkah and New Year. Once again we are under severe restrictions and must discontinue gathering in the Lodge Craft Room for at least the next three weeks or so. By the time you read this we hope to be back to our cautious group meetings. In the meantime, our group of knitters, crocheters, tatters and such will miss the companionship that our Needle Me gatherings provides. The winter weather and the absence of so many of the other activities that we normally participate in are conducive to working on our crafts and hobbies. So keep those needles and hooks moving. And when we are able to meet again, please join us in the Lodge Arts & Crafts Room on the first and fourth Fridays of the month from 1 to 3 pm. If you have any questions, please contact Bobbie Davis at (951) 223-3836 or Maggie Fussell at (951) 388-7640. Check with your club contact to confirm meeting place, date, & time. Players Theater is currently working on new scripts for 2021. We hope to have performance dates by the end of the year. Our first performance (hopefully in March) will be Grand Night of Musical Theater directed by Noreen Scott. The play features segments of famous musicals including, South Pacific, The King and I, West Side Story, and My Fair Lady. We will announce the date as soon as we know (umm… when things are safe!). We are also having readings for two other plays for next year. They are Over the River and Through the Woods by Joe DiPietro, directed by Chris Pounders and Chuck Sims. It is a hilarious and moving comedy about love between grandparents and grandson, and how the grandparents conspire to keep their grandson from moving out of state. The third play is written by our own Rudy Rich and Sandy Tiffin, entitled, To Be or Not. It is a tender story of a retired English Professor who has lost his wife, is estranged from his children, and temporarily confined to a nursing home. While there, he reconsiders his life and ponders whether it is worth continuing. Will the possibility of finding love again influence his decision? We sincerely hope you and your family stay safe during these turbulent times. We hope to see you soon! ~ Chris Pounders, Chair Players Theater TGIF Happy New Year to all our TGIF friends. Hope all of you have been safe from the COVID-19 and were able to enjoy the holidays. We are still unable to start having TGIF/Karaoke, but hope that sometime in the spring, we will be able to return. Keep watching the Herald for news and updates. Miss you all. ~ Your TGIF Committee Billiards Four Seasons Billiards Team meets and plays Tuesday mornings 9 am to 1 pm. The team competes throughout the city of Hemet.
