28 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | JANUARY 2021 | Just in case: Check with your club contact to confirm meeting place, date, and time. Int'l Culture Club Board Members of the International Culture Club have been working out the fine points for next year and are just awaiting the green light to begin having our monthly dinners and dances again. When we are able to resume our monthly events, there will be three entrée choices one of which will be vegetarian. We will no longer have a buffet and all meals will be plated. With Riverside County moving back into the purple tier, we don't anticipate being able to move forward in January. In the meantime, wear your masks, practice social distancing and stay safe. The Pink Ukuladies & Gents Many of our Pink Ukuladies & Gents continue practicing on Zoom with both the Yucaipa Yukes as well as Barry Thompson's Loma Linda Strummers. Every week there is an opportunity to learn new techniques from the Loma Linda Strummers' group. They actively work on transposition of keys, second to fifth position on the fret (the neck) of the ukulele, as well as new strumming methods. Those few who are attending Zoom meetings are deriving pleasure and a needed break from isolation; and we encourage more members to join Zoom. At first it seems awkward, but after a few sessions the method is easy and it is wonderful viewing a whole group of happy, smiling faces. The Pink Ukuladies & Gents look forward to a possible leader in the near future. The group extends a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR to all friends, neighbors, and their families here in our wonderful Sun Lakes community. This dark period will pass and folks will be physically together again. Pre-pandemic fun
