4 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | JANUARY 2021 | Message from the GM By Christopher Mitchell I would like to extend my wishes to all the membership for a Happy New Year. Here is looking to a better 2021! With the Governors stay at home order, we will be changing the way we do business in Sun Lakes. During the month of December, like last April, our offices will be closed to face-to-face transactions, amenities will be limited, and the Restaurant will be focused on curb side. Golf and racquet sports will still be available. Please check our website for updates on closures and amenity times. Restaurant update: HOME DELIVERY focus With the Restaurant closing outdoor seating, the Board and staff will be shifting the focus to Curbside pickup and Delivery services. That's right, delivery service within Sun Lakes will be debuting on Dec. 28. This will be provided seven days a week along with curbside pick-up. We will be posting the information on Good Day Sun Lakes, Lifestyles, and our social media platforms. The priorities of these services will be to: 1) Ensuring we provide a great product. 2) Ensure our packaging for delivery and curbside is superior to foam take out boxes of old. We tried this with Thanksgiving and saw improved handling. 3) Timely delivery of the product. We should try to limit the time from order to delivery to be successful. Again, please check the website and Good Day Sun Lakes. Point of Sale System Update: The Board approved moving forward with finalizing an agreement with Club soft, our current POS system to do an upgrade. This upgrade will cost the association roughly $30,000. With this, we would be able to computerize our Golf Pro shop, allow room reservation, and help with a development of an app for members. There will be more updates at the January 2021 open session. Take care and stay safe. EPAP NEEDS VOLUNTEERS The EPAP organization needs two executive team members and several district coordinators to continue smooth operations during the COVID-19 pandemic. Monthly radio communications tests continue, and EPAP stands ready and able to provide emergency responses in the event of a large-scale emergency. The management team is working on a more expansive evacuation plan for SLCC residents, continuing the initial work done by the previous EPAP Executive Team. It continues efforts to coordinate District organizations and SLCC staff to more effectively allow for an evacuation of residents and staff in case of an emergency. The EPAP Emergency number is no longer an information number. It should only be used by residents to report a potential event emergency. To help avoid such calls, EPAP's Executive Team has established a Facebook page for residents to see current information, training classes, status on any events impacting the community, and to ask questions. Look for Sun Lakes EPAP on Facebook. EPAP Needs Volunteers Happy New Year everyone! Here we go with a new year and hoping we can start to meet again. Our next meeting is scheduled for Mon., Jan. 18 at 10 am in the Multipurpose Room. If for some reason we are not able to meet we will notify you via email or through Good Day Sun Lakes. At the January meeting we will be discussing new possibilities for our group in the upcoming new year. Hopefully we can get more volunteers, obtain new members, and discuss how our group can grow and continue being a great help to our community. We would like to thank all the volunteers who helped find lost pets in the community for the past few months. We couldn't have gotten those pets home without your help! Please remember to have one form of ID on your pets! This helps us to get them home to you quickly and safely! Hope to see everyone and new faces in the New Year!
