| THE COLONY NEWS | JANUARY 2021 | 5 HOA NEWS Nov. 28: Confirmed COVID-19 Case On Nov. 25, our office received information about a possible exposure to COVID-19 at Santiago's Salon, located in the Clubhouse. A resident who used the salon was confirmed to have COVID-19. It is our understanding that the resident who was confirmed to have contracted the COVID-19 virus used the salon on Nov. 12, between 1:30 and 2 pm. We have also been made aware of two additional residents testing positive for the COVID-19 virus. We are not aware that either of these two individuals have used the common area facilities recently. In general, the Association does not intend to send a notice every time it is made aware of a positive test result, unless that individual is known to have used the common area facilities within the time frame of possibly exposing others to the virus. In consideration of all residents and as a matter of privacy, we cannot disclose the name of the Colony resident. All residents are encouraged to continue to help protect themselves and others by following the COVID guidelines. • The County is aware of any positive test results. Since the resident's test came back as positive, the County may be reaching out to Colony residents as part of its overall tracing process. • The Association is following all County recommendations and will continue to do so. • Please be reminded of the importance of protecting the health of others during this pandemic by notifying our office if you or a household member test positive. Refrain from coming to the community facilities if you have been around someone who has tested positive until you have passed the 14-day incubation time frame and have been cleared from quarantine and/or are awaiting testing results. It is everyone's responsibility to protect the health of others and to mitigate the spread of the COVID-19 virus. We cannot stress the importance of following the guidelines and directives provided by local, State, and Federal Agencies. Whether you agree with the restrictions or not, you must follow the rules. Failure to do so will result in immediate removal from the facilities. No exceptions. The Board thanks you in advance for your cooperation and understanding. Dec. 4: Christmas Eve and Christmas Day Guest Passes To relieve traffic congestion at the Jackson Avenue visitor's gate on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, you may obtain a "Special One Day Entry Pass" in advance for your guests to use on Dec. 24 and 25. The benefit of this Special Entry Pass is that it can be used at the Nutmeg Resident entrance only between the hours of 3 to 7 pm on Christmas Eve and 4 to 6 pm on Christmas Day. We will staff additional security personnel at this location. When your guests present the pass to the officer upon entry, they will be promptly admitted into the community. In addition, these guest passes will be accepted at the Main Gate on Jackson Avenue throughout the entire day. Directions to all gates open to guests will be printed on the back of the pass. A special One Day pass for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day is available by contacting HOA Receptionist, Cindy Irving. Information required will be guest's name, resident's name, and resident address. Staff will fill in the information on the passes and give it to you to mail to your visitors. If your guest is spending the night, passes for both days must be displayed on their vehicle dashboard. Mail out the passes on or before Dec. 16 so your guests get them in time. Guests should use the alternate entrance at Nutmeg to avoid the crowd at the Main Gate on Dec. 24 and 25. Did you miss these eBlast Notices? The California Stay at Home Order is still in place until further notice by the State of California Governor, and individuals age 65 and older, or with chronic medical conditions, are at increased risk of effects of the COVID-19 virus. Wash your hands frequently with soap and water, cover coughs and sneezes, and avoid the area if you are experiencing symptoms of illness including a fever of 100°F or above, sore throat, runny nose, chills, not feeling well, sneezing, coughing, abdominal pain, or diarrhea. Note #1: The Board has passed temporary rules to allow residents to conditionally use a portion of the Association's amenities. With that stated, it is the Board's expectation that all residents will comply with these temporary rules. If any resident is found to be in non-compliance with any of these, or any other Association rules, the Board reserves the right to enforce said rules as it deems appropriate within its authority.
