The Sunshine Committee provides moral support for ill or hospitalized residents, assists families of deceased residents and welcomes new homeowners to the community. The committee will collect food for various food banks from Nov. 30 to Dec. 4. Director Brackin: The Library Committee has very dedicated ladies. The Association is currently offering a curbside library outside the Clubhouse Auditorium. The Nutmeg fence project is coming along nicely. The wall will last a lifetime, compared to a wrought iron fence. The Cal Oaks wall repair is the result of a vehicle accident and the Association will be reimbursed for the damage. Vice President Deacon: The Library Committee is currently purging old books and donating them to the Friends of the Library. When Riverside County is qualified for COVID red zone, the Auditorium can be cleared as an inside gym for aerobics, various dance classes, yoga, table tennis, etc. In lieu of the postponement of New Resident Orientations, Vice President Deacon will deliver materials to new residents and answer any questions they may have. CONSENT AGENDA: Vice President Deacon presented the following items for Board approval: 1. Oct. 15, 2020 General Board Minutes 2. Monthly review of financials (AB 2912) for September 2020 3. Board authorization of transfers and expenditures over $10,000 (AB 2912) for October 2020 4. Approval of Jim Nash's re-application as a member of the Finance Advisory Committee. Approved. TREASURER'S REPORT: On behalf of the Finance Advisory Committee, Jim Nash presented the Sept. 30, 2020 Unaudited Interim Financial Statements prepared by Associa/PCM. Approved. ARCHITECTURAL APPEAL HEARING: Appeal of Architectural Application denial. John and Marty Tighe submitted their reasoning for being allowed to keep their garage door decorative handle and hinges. The Board deliberated and approved a variance to allow the Tighe's to keep their garage door decorative accessories. NEW BUSINESS: Removals and Root Barriers Proposals: Approved proposal for tree removals and replacement in the amount of $3,311.25. Liquid Amber Tree Removal Proposal: Approved proposal in the amount of $10,935 for the replacement of all 40 liquid amber trees. Front Yard Tree Replacement Proposal: Approved proposal in the amount of $8,227.50 for replacement of failing and stunted front yard trees. Nutmeg Wall Landscape Renovation: Approved proposal to renovate Nutmeg gate entry landscape in the amount of $8,312.80. Plantings: Approved proposal for fall plantings in the amount of $2,732.20. Ratify Reserve Study – Level 3: Ratified Nov. 5, 2020 decision to approve the proposal by ARS to conduct Level 3 Reserve Study Update without a site visit, in the amount of $2,950. Funding from G/L Account #5105. 2021 Interior and Exterior Holiday Décor Proposal: At the Nov. 5 Executive Session, Board canceled the 2020 interior holiday décor contract. Vendor agreed to cancel at no cost if Board signs a new contract for the 2021 interior décor. Approved proposal of $5,800 for 2021 holiday seasonal decor. Golf Course Update: President Bowman reported that the Board, Golf Course Committee and the Receiver are working hand- in-hand. Renovations and changes at the golf course are fantastic. The receiver reported food and beverage service will continue weekend BBQ operations through December. In January 2021, golf course will start running the grill for breakfast and lunch on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. As demand dictates, the golf course may implement an outside Grab and Go pick-up. The 12th hole flood plain improvements have begun. Maintenance has started to repair the irrigation system on the fairways, treating the salt issue and improving drainage. Overall course repair and maintenance continues. The golf course continues to address irrigation issues, treat the greens for crabgrass and aerate and fertilize the greens. They are also chemically treating the lakes, maintaining cart paths and repairing mowers. Mulch from tree trimming will be used to improve the fingers and slopes. They will continue to work on fingers and slopes. Fingers on the #17 and #18 tee boxes will be used as a turf and green sod farm and will improve the look of the fingers. The receiver will go back to court on Jan. 20, 2021 to update how they are progressing with the repair and maintenance. The Board is encouraged that with the positive changes, the judge will allow the receivership to continue. 2,600 rounds were played in October 2020, a 94 percent increase over 1,300 played last year. The greens fee revenues for 2020 are almost $89,000, a 140 percent increase over last year's $32,000. Total revenue for this month was $90,500, a 106 percent increase over last year's $44,000. The Board is excited about the progress of the receivership. The golf course is addressing the judgment issues and turning a monthly profit, which has not happened for years. They are using an outside reservation company to market the course and increase play, and are addressing resident concerns. The golf course is continuing to improve offerings in the golf shop. The Colony golf groups are continuing to patronize the golf course and growing the business. Meeting highlights continued from previous page
