Our Neighborhood Watch partnership with the California Highway Patrol in the Toys for Tots Program was a resounding success. Articles donated by our very generous residents filled many boxes. The overflow had to be stored in the currently closed Billiards Room. The toys were later picked up by Highway Patrol personnel and were delivered to children in need in our area. Our wonderful residents have donated toys to make this program the great success that it is every year. Thank you again for the many gifts and your generosity in this difficult time. COVID-19 is in the headlines on a daily basis. The virus has had several variants which tend to make things more difficult. The vaccine program is moving slowly so taking precautions remains important. Please continue to wear masks, keep social distance between you and others not living in your household, and wash your hands or sanitize often. The hospitals in our area are at full capacity in the ICU, and nurses and doctors are working many extra hours to help their patients. Elective non-emergency surgeries are delayed because hospital staff is involved in COVID-19 treatment. Please be careful when contacting other people outside of our community as well as your friends or relatives in our community. We look forward to when we can resume our in- person meetings of Neighborhood Watch, but in the meantime our meetings will be held virtually via Zoom. Our next Zoom meeting is currently planned for March and will be with the Beaumont Police Department with a possible guest appearance of the new Highway Patrol Commander for our area. The police department has been a great partner with us in the Neighborhood Watch Program, and they also miss the social contact with our residents. Look in the Daily Report for the date, time, and invite information for the Zoom meeting with the Beaumont Police Department. To all our Block Captains and Neighborhood Watch residents, we thank you for all you have done to keep our community safe. ~ Jerry Monahan, (951) 212-8898 20 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | FEBRUARY 2021 Neighborhood Watch 81 S.
