FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | FEBRUARY 2021 41 Check with your club contact to confirm meeting place, date, and time. As of this writing, we continue to be unable to have our Cinema Club screenings due to COVID. When we are able to resume, we will catch up on the films that have been previously scheduled. Normally, our screenings are the second and fourth Sunday evenings of each month at 6 pm in The Lodge Theater. We typically screen smaller films, foreign films, indie films and documentaries. If you want to get on the Cinema Club mailing list and receive information about future screenings, send me an email at michelesrosen@gmail.com. Don't forget the "s"! Thank you for your continued support. If you have any questions about the Counter Culture Cinema Club or want to recommend a film, please email me at michelesrosen@gmail.com. ~ Micki Rosen Counter Culture Cinema Club Classic Film Group The Tuesday Evening/Day Classic Film Group for February is still on hold, just like the rest of the world. Can anyone name the title and director of either of the two movies pictured above? Keep checking the Daily Report for updates. Hope to see you at the movies. Stay safe everyone! ~ Paul Plamondon, 4seasonsmoviegroup@gmail.com Hello all! We thought it would be fun to visit the different varietals, as a refresher or a beginning course! We went to Thrillist.com to give you a judgment-free, non-pretentious analysis of every major red wine varietal, under the tannin-loving tutelage of certified sommelier Mattie Jackson Selecman. She's a true believer in wine education, sans shaming. If you never ask, you'll never know, right? Cabernet Sauvignon Bold, high in acidity, savory, elegant, and dry: This is a "serious" wine, for "serious" wine drinkers. It's also a safe bet if you are ordering off a menu or buying a bottle. It may be complex, but it's also something most casual wine drinkers are used to drinking. "Cab is certainly the most planted variety of grape, worldwide. It's probably the most well-known among consumers. I'd call it the all-star of grapes," Selecman said. "It's almost like if you are serious wine person, you 'should' be drinking cabernet. It's the IPA of wine." Food pairing: Cabernet needs fat to latch onto; if you don't have fat or salt in your meal, the dryness of the cab will coat your tongue and might make it feel kind of… gross, for lack of a better word. If you're at a steakhouse, your go-to order should be cabernet sauvignon. Take care all, we look forward to getting together soon.
