Stay creative and stay safe! I never intended to start a hobby. July was fast approaching, and I was nearing four months of self-isolation. I had read books, played my proper guitars and even did a little work around the house. Bored, antsy? Call it whatever you want but I needed something to do. A simple project to break up the routine. With a long-time interest in roots music and blues, I decided to build a cigar box guitar. It was not fancy. It was a three stringed fretless "slider" made from a wooden craft box purchased on Amazon. It is now a few days past six months that I initiated my first build. I have completed twenty-six guitars, 12 ukuleles and currently have four guitars in process as I get ready to display my work in The Lodge. Although I don't smoke, I know the location of at least a dozen smoke shops that sell empty cigar boxes. One owner even texts me pictures of his available boxes. Yet, my one take-away from building cigar box instruments from my garage is that I got acquainted with Four Seasons residents that I would not have encountered in normal times. Thanks everybody.
