26 | OHCC LIVING | FEBRUARY 2021 | Since there are many new residents of OHCC, it seemed timely to let everyone know about the Photography Club. Whether you know you're F-stops from your apertures, or you're more point-and-shoot, or even if you just use your phone's or tablet's camera, the Photography Club invites you to join us. Our goal is to provide a venue for members to explore the Art of Photography and learn more about the practical, artistic, and technical aspects of the medium through active participation in group discussions, excursions, photo exhibitions, and workshops. Most of these activities will resume once the current pandemic emergency has ended. In the meantime, we are remaining active with photo shoots that can be done individually without contact. Our club is open to all residents of OHCC. Annual dues are $8 per person. When we can have meetings in person again, they will likely be on the third Thursday at 1 pm. Sometime after Feb. 1, we hope to have available a display of the photos taken during our January photo shoot, a scavenger hunt of certain types of items. These should be on our website in February. The targets for the scavenger hunt were 1. Common household objects (candle, knick-knacks, lamps, etc.) 2. Water – could be a macro shot of water, could be the Pacific 3. Food 4. Mode of transportation – bike, scooter, golf cart, car, airplane, walking shoes ;) 5. Animal – could be a pet, someone else's pet, one of our friendly neighborhood coyotes… The most common question we get is "who can help me learn how to work my camera?" The club has some expert photographers, some who have an excellent eye, some who are technical experts in cameras and computers, and some who know how to read the instruction manual for your camera.
