20 | OHCC LIVING | FEBRUARY 2021 | This brings us to February 2021 and we understand how everyone must be feeling at this point. We continue to have hope that this pandemic will subside and we can get back to our regular routines. The good news — we have been able to tackle some projects that would have been difficult if the Clubhouse were open to all activities, the renovation of the tennis and pickleball courts, the Clubhouse interior renovation, the facilities office upgrade, the restoration of the wood floors, and the assembling of the new camera system for the Broadcast Booth. Anthony Scalise, our AV Tech has been working to accomplish this project with guidance from the AV Committee members. The necessary training for AV Committee members is happening online in the comfort of their own homes. Annual 2021 bag tags were distributed in the first week of January. If anyone did not receive one, please contact the Front Desk at (760) 758-8772 and staff will be happy to assist by bringing them out curbside in the front of the Clubhouse. There is no charge for the tag and we will verify residency. Only one bag tag will be given to each registered resident. Pool and spa reservations continue. A recent eBlast went out to the community reminding members of the guidelines, the need to make a reservation, and requesting everyone's cooperation. We have to keep to the timing of the schedule, as the staff work on a rotation when it comes to their duties. The reservations are 30 minutes only to swim and/or soak, with some additional time to gather personal belongings and exit the areas so staff can come through to sanitize. We would appreciate all users to adhere to this request. The Pop-Up Services will continue on Mondays, unless the vendor cancels or weather conditions dictate the closure. There have been a few inquiries from other vendors interested in coming and they will be taken under consideration, as soon as some of the county and state restrictions ease up regarding these guidelines. The Walgreens located at the Cannon Shopping Center is willing to come and provide a vaccine clinic, in the same way we accomplished the recent flu clinic. We are waiting for them to receive the go ahead to provide the service, based on the phases outlined in their distribution plans. As all of us try to deal with some degree of fear and anxiety during this challenging time here are a few suggestions to help ease the current situation: • Take care of self in body and spirit • Help others • Do not look at the bigger picture, focus on the things you can control • Stay connected and informed Happy Valentine's Day to all! Show some love by letting a friend or neighbor know that you care about them, it only takes a moment and it will make your day.
