The weather is frightful but in the alley it is so delightful. Let it rain, let it snow, off to bowling we will go. When we get to the lanes we forget about the weather, just glad we could all get together. We are all masked and ready to go, so let us just have fun and bowl. We have the same three teams as last month holding first, second and third. This time they are in a little different order. In first place is Just Lucky with: Gail Stormes, Marlene Gartman, Larry Stormes and Andy Toro SR. In second place is Waters World with: Rick Waters, Kathy Duerr, John Noonan and Tom Keheley. In third place is Motion to Strike with: Lakana Burkett, Joan Allen, Jim McGowan and Frank Burkett. High scores for the season for the men are: Andy Toro with a Scratch Series of 815, Rick Vieville with a Scratch Game of 300, Larry Stormes with a Handicap Series of 783 and Jim McGowan with a Handicap Game of 307. High scores for the season for the women are: Gail Stormes with a Scratch Series of 559, Connie Matty with a Scratch Game of 204, Betty Jo Page with a Handicap Series of 731 and Jerry Schneider with a Handicap Game of 283. There is more to life than bowling, but not much. There is no activity while the facilities are closed, but when they reopen… Do you enjoy playing the billiard game of 8 Ball? If you do, come join us. All Sun Lakes residents are welcome to practice with us Mondays through Saturdays. We normally draw for partners at noon, then play to around 2 pm. There is no cost to join our group. However, if you elect to join a team, there is a $15 competition fee per three-month season. Eight teams compete every Thursday; four at 9 am and the other four at 1 pm in our Main Clubhouse Billiards Room. For a fun afternoon of friendly competition, come watch us play. Sun Lakers & Friends Our Tuesday League continues to go on thanks to the diligent efforts of the Canyon Lanes Manager and staff. In this time of COVID-19, it is imperative that we continue to abide by the guidelines set up by Canyon Lanes and Morongo Casino. We would hate to be closed down because of non observance of the guidelines. Remember, you must use the table assigned to your lane. Masks must be worn at all times in the common area. Nothing other than bowling equipment may be brought into the center. This means no food, drinks or containers of any kind are allowed in the center. Here are the stats as of Nov. 24, 2020: Team 7, Just For Fun, is narrowly in first place with Team 13, Slow Motion, only one game behind. It appears to be a tight race developing with lots of time to catch them. In the words of Yogi Berra, "It ain't over 'til it's over."
