| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | MARCH 2021 | 13 Master Architectural Advisory This information is provided to help Sun Lakes residents understand the role of the Master Architectural Committee (MAC). We follow the GENERAL STATEMENT OF RULES AND REGULATIONS. For your ease they are found on the Sun Lakes website. ARTICLE - XI Architectural Standards and Guidelines. Working closely with the Planning and Compliance Department, the MAC follows the Sun Lakes CC&Rs with Amendments. Improvements to your residence starts with an application available from the Planning and Compliance Department at the Administration office. They will help provide you with the application needed for changes to your property, and they are ready to answer your questions. Whether it is for painting, patio covers, landscaping (including artificial turf ), or vinyl fencing, they are here to help you. ~ David Marshall Kealy, Chairman Lifestyles Advisory Committee had its first Zoom meeting with great of success. These Zoom meetings have given us a way of staying in touch and still doing the volunteer work that we enjoy. Thanks to Marcia Gold, our outgoing chair, and to Connie Cutner, for years as a dedicated secretary. We welcomed a new member, Gloria Pena, who has volunteered in Sun Lakes in many capacities. Lifestyles Editor, Courtney Taylor, emailed articles that needed to be edited. Our team worked in sync to meet the editor's deadline. I've worked on this Committee through the unflinching leadership of Charlene Fink, Raelene Kretchman, and Marcia Gold, and it is a privilege to be the Chair. As you know, Lifestyles continues to be a popular and major communication vehicle in our community. Please call me at (951) 797-3130 if you have questions or comments. ~ Judy Garthwaite Lifestyles Advisory Just a friendly reminder to secure your Recreational Vehicle (motorhome, travel trailer, truck or vehicle) while leaving them parked in the RV lot. If you have a cover for your RV, please make sure that is secured as well. We get high winds in the area and covers could end up blowing away. Another friendly reminder to members of the community — secure your garage door at all times except when working in and/ or around the garage. Community Patrol will continue to make courtesy calls to members at night to inform them of an open garage door. Community Patrol will also attempt to make contact with those during the day and evening hours that have an open garage door. Securing your garage door is important for the safety of you and your pets. Security codes (aka passcode) are used to verify the resident's identity for multiple reasons but especially for calling in a guest due to security reasons. Community Patrol staff on occasion will take a guest call in from a resident's family member and that family member will give the officer the resident's correct security code. Security codes are verified for security purposes and should not be used by anyone else other than the resident themselves. If you need assistance in resetting your security code, you can do so by contacting the HOA at (951) 769-6649. If you see any suspicious individuals and/or activity such as an individual walking in the neighborhood looking at houses or looking into cars, unusual noises such as screaming, breaking of glass, sounds of a fight or an individual carrying property that appears out of place, I recommend calling the Banning Police for non-emergency situations at (951) 922-3170 or 911 for emergency situations and then contacting Community Patrol at (951) 845-2163. Community Patrol will respond depending on the circumstances of the situation, otherwise it would be handled by law enforcement. Safety Advisory
