Racquet Club
Thinking about joining the Racquet Club? Felicity Swerdlow,
fresh in her role as Greeter of the OHCC Racquet Club, together
with fellow member Sharon Sorensen, Chair of Membership, aim
to make new members of the club feel welcome and supported.
They orient newbies to the Racquet Club and explain how to get
involved. An essential first step is helping newcomers navigate the
Racquet Club website and the all-important scheduling tool. Acting
as "matchmakers," they also will introduce new members to existing
racquet club players by pairing them up with other members at a
similar level.
Felicity and Sharon would also like to reach out to new residents of
OHCC and invite them to join the Racquet Club and hope that current
members will assist to make connections. If you meet a new resident
who might be interested in playing pickleball, tennis, paddle tennis
(and hopefully soon again water volleyball and badminton) please
send along the resident's contact information to: Sharon Sorensen

The COVID-19 tier fluctuations and the sport court renovations
continue to modify how, when and where we play tennis, paddle
tennis, and pickleball. The Racquet Club board applied member
survey results to shape the modifications to play. Email blasts, website
updates, and postings on the court bulletin boards are keeping
members informed. When the HOA finishes the maintenance project
in spring, we all will enjoy premier sport court facilities right here in
our own backyard.
The amazing transformation launched in January for Phase One to
renovate Clubhouse and T1/T2 courts. First, old screens and fencing
were removed. Then Clubhouse court poles received rust remediation
topped off with a glossy green coat of paint, ready for new chain-link
fence and windscreen installation in February. Meanwhile poles for
permanent pickleball courts were installed and primed on T2. Court
resurfacing will follow in the weeks after the fencing is complete.
Thoughtful details include repositioning all court door latches for
safety. Phase Two renovation of the HOA Courts and T3/T4 begins
in April. The project timeline and photos are on the website - keep
up with the latest by visiting https://ohccracquetclub.wixsite.com/
racquet, hover over the home tab and select Court Renovation Project.
During Phase One, the HOA courts and T3/T4 courts are being
highly utilized by players. You can find the present playing rules and
restrictions on the website at https://ohccracquetclub.wixsite.com/
racquet, under the COVID tab.
Water Volleyball is suspended until we turn the tide on COVID-
tier restrictions.
If you have feedback, send an email to ohrchelp@gmail.com or
talk to a board member.
