| OHCC LIVING | MARCH 2021 | 25
Spring is a time of renewal and gratitude that life is beginning
again. Just as the flowers are showing their faces, many of us are
peering into the drawers and closets, bringing forth pieces of bright
fabric or yarn to begin the creative process again, which (we hope)
will lift our spirits and excite us with new ideas.
The holiday stockings program for Camp Pendleton kids and San
Pasqual Academy high schoolers is getting organized, and kits will be
available soon. Everything you need to make a stocking for a child
is included, except thread. If you are not familiar with San Pasqual
Academy, look it up on Google. It is a live-in educational facility for
foster teenagers that provides support and structure while they are
getting their diplomas. If you are interested in making a stocking
or two, contact Marcia Bruce (760) 726-9334 for more information.
Zoom has been our saving grace during the last year. Our meetings
on the first Thursday of the month at 9:30 am, have allowed us to catch
a glimpse of each other and have a laugh or two while we conduct the
little bit of business that continues to be necessary, pandemic or not.
The "chat" on Friday at noon has helped our spirits as well, where we
visit and show off what we have been accomplishing. Whether you
sew, crochet, knit, quilt, or just want to see what's going on with us,
you are all welcome!
If you are interested in participating in our activities and are
not sure who to reach out to during this time, please call Chris
Sanderson (858) 442-1834, or MaryLu Belisle (952) 454-1931 for
more information. Also, please visit our website, lovingly updated by
Terri Eckhardt, http://ohccsewing.wixsite.com/ohccsewing.
All are welcome to join us. Dues (normally $7 per year) are waived
for all 2020 members, due to the current situation. We look forward
to seeing you in person when life gets back to normal, but meanwhile,
we'll be Zoom-ing!
