4 | OHCC LIVING | MARCH 2021 | GM's Message By Wendy Panizza Ready, set… jump into spring! We look forward to extended daylight hours, beginning March 14, as we move through the seasons here in southern California. For most of OHCC, that means more time for outdoor activities! In addition to the Board- approved Walk the Golf Course Day scheduled for Easter Sunday, April 4 (watch for more on this event), we have extended the swim and spa times to accommodate as many users as we can while reservations are still required. We also expect that sports at the golf course, bocce ball, pickleball, and tennis courts are gearing up into full swing, but, alas, without spectators for now. Of course, and as usual, we remain ready to open up more fully as we see COVID numbers drop, and health orders relax. Over the last couple of months, the Board has approved the development and membership of the various Standing, Ad Hoc and Executive Committees for work in the coming year. Did you know? We have over 17 committees currently in place! Nine of these committees meet at least one time monthly; two meet twice monthly on a regular schedule, and some meet only as needed. That, together with at least 24 Executive and Regular meetings of the Master Board of Directors (over 35 Master Board meetings last year), results in a lot of good, hard work being performed by over 60 volunteer homeowners from OHCC, and that's not counting Village Boards and Committees… quite remarkable, indeed. Meeting Times - the Master Board has changed its meeting dates! The Regular Meeting will be held the third Thursday of each month at 10 am via Zoom, and the executive session is scheduled for the Monday prior to the regular meeting. Once we determine the impact that schedule has on the regularly scheduled Committee and Village Board meetings, we will publish an OHCC calendar for resident and membership perusal. The coming of spring also means the budget season has passed, culminating with Board-approved budgets for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2022. The Master Board of Directors, on Feb. 5, approved a budget that results in assessments of $393 per month for another year for the Master Association. Thanks to the Budget and Financial Advisory Committee (members include Kevin Cryan, Kathryn Fitzwilliam, John Lesser, Chair and Board Liaison Henry Eisenson, and Board members Greg Kusiak and Angela Takemoto), for a comprehensive and thoughtful analysis of the Association's income and expenses, anticipated expenditures, and including a thorough review of the Reserves Analysis Report for the coming fiscal year. Assessments are as follows effective April 1, 2021. 2021-2022 Village Master Total Corfu $130 $393 $523 Cyrus $149 $393 $542 Hydra $156 $393 $549 Majorca $106 $393 $499 Mykonos $112 $393 $505 Portofino $91 $393 $484 Santorini $116 $393 $509 Zante $128 $393 $521 Finally, as you are all likely aware, the Master Board has proposed a variety of rules changes that are in process, which are governed by civil code regulations. As previously noted, and included in the distribution of this year's Annual Budget Report & Annual Policy Statement (hard copy, as required by law), rules notices shall be posted at the Clubhouse and on the website, in order to meet our statutory obligation for general notices. Rules currently in process are Architectural Rules relating to Gates, Security Deposits, General Compliance Violations, and Animals with Dangerous Propensities. Upcoming rules changes include rules relating to Real Property Agreements and improvements to the Recreational Vehicle Lot Agreement. We intend to keep the community informed via eBlasts as well, so please be sure to contact the HOA office to add your email address to our database in order to receive lots of valuable information electronically. Thank you, as always, for your constant support and amazing spirit! We look forward to our continued great success in serving this community. Take care, and be well!
