| THE COLONY NEWS | MARCH 2021 | 7 Advisory Committee: The committee is working on the last water conservation project. They have already started on the slopes and the boulder corner on Avenida Florita and Colony Drive. The LAC has five member openings for residents interested in volunteering. Tom Brackin – Library Committee: The committee is currently cleaning up the books and putting them outside for resident use. Walt Bowman – Newsletter Committee: Editor Jeanne Bender and the Newsletter Committee are doing a great job putting together the newsletter. There has been a huge savings in the budget by outsourcing the newsletter magazine. Del Mitchum – Rules and Regulations Committee: The State of California has enacted two new laws: Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) and Jr. Accessory Dwelling Units (JADUs). A homeowner may legally build a small house in his or her backyard (ADU) or renovate his or her garage into living quarters (JADU) as long as it meets State guidelines. The Board, Legal Counsel and the R&R Committee are currently working on incorporating these new rules into the governing documents. The Committee also has two new member openings for interested volunteers. Glenn Sailer – Violations Committee: The Violations Committee will hold their next hearing on Jan. 26, 2021. CONSENT AGENDA: Vice President Deacon presented the following Consent Agenda items for Board approval: 1. Approval of Nov. 19, 2020 General Board Minutes 2. Monthly Review of Financials (AB 2912) for October and November 2020 3. Board Authorization of Transfers and Expenditures over $10,000 (AB 2912) for January 2021 4. Resignation of Sylvia McIndoo and Elaine Archer, Newsletter Committee 5. Resignation of Sylvia McIndoo, Community Liaison Committee 6. Resignation of Mike Adams and Ernie Woolner, Landscape Advisory Committee 7. Resignation of Mike Adams, Finance Advisory Committee 8. Approval of Margaret Norville, New Member, Rules and Regulations Committee Approved Consent Agenda Items #1 through #5 and #8. Numbers #6 and #7 were pulled for discussion. #6 – Ernie Woolner: Treasurer Sailer informed the membership that Ernie Woolner joined the Landscape Advisory Committee in 2006 and has served for over 14 years. Mr. Woolner is a retired Pastor, a kind man and a gentleman's gentleman. #7 – Mike Adams: Treasurer Sailer informed the membership that Mike Adams served on the Landscape Advisory Committee for eight years, as well as serving as Chair of the committee for a period of time. Mr. Adams also served on the Finance Advisory Committee for 10 years. He has served the community with dedication and has given many hours of hard work. Approved Consent Agenda Items #6 and #7. TREASURER'S REPORT: On behalf of the Finance Advisory Committee, Jim Nash presented the Oct. 31, 2020 and Nov. 30, 2020 Unaudited Interim Financial Statements prepared by Associa/ PCM. Approved the Oct. 31, 2020 and Nov. 30, 2020 Unaudited Financial Report as presented. NEW BUSINESS: April 30, 2021 and 2020 Audit and Tax Preparation, Newman CPA: Management presented the April 30, 2021 and 2020 Audit and Tax preparation proposal from Newman CPA for Board review. Approved the Newman CPA proposal to prepare the April 30, 2021 and 2020 audit and tax preparation at a total cost of $2,300. Dumbell Man Preventative Maintenance Contract: Management presented the Dumbell Man Preventive Maintenance Agreement renewal for Board consideration. Approved renewal of the preventive maintenance agreement with the Dumbell Man Fitness Equipment at the quarterly rate of $175 for a term of one year, beginning Jan. 1, 2021 through Dec. 31, 2021.
