Before moving to SDV, if attending some kind of shindig, I brought the dessert. But here there were, and will be again, many occasions to BYO something with a bit more substance, if not less carbs. What to do, considering the fact that I am also very lazy? For the next few months, I'll be sharing some recipes that I've tried out on unsuspecting friends. I say unsuspecting since very few of them knew until now that I never previewed them at home to make sure they were any good. First up: Brie with Fig Jam (This one is so easy it's almost embarrassing) Experimenting On Unsuspecting Friends Ingredients: 1 round of brie, any size (top rind off or cut into, chop it up to fit the dish, whatever works for you. It doesn't matter, it's going to be a gooey mess whatever you do) ½ cup or more of fig jam ½ cup coarsely chopped pecans; walnuts can be substituted Zest of an orange Apples and/or crackers Instructions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fit the brie into an oven proof dish Spread the jam on top; top with nuts and zest Bake for 10-15 minutes, until warm and gooey Serve with slices of Honeycrisp apples or crackers, whatever's in your pantry Enjoy!
