Vision. I have been to very few places in the last year. I drive to work; I drive home. Maybe once a month I venture out with my family to show them the world is still there, a distanced outdoor something. I have shared before how much I enjoy the company of my neighbors. They have truly been a lifeline. If I run an errand it is on the path to home or work. The limitations on my adventure have not limited my vision. There have been several moments when I think I have been forced to appreciate the beauty all around me. The other day a gopher-hunting crane was roadside hunting an afternoon snack. This morning, three hot air balloons. Vision. I wear glasses; my vision is impaired. My glasses have gotten thicker through the years. Once they only helped me see things at a distance, now they help with the close-ups too. Some days I can't see anything through the fogged-up lenses. Each step could be considered blind faith. Vision. Over 100 years ago some men had a vision about building a dam and creating a water system for the valley below, bringing utilities and more people to this beautiful valley that was already rich in beauty and history to those born of the soil. Visit: www.lhmwd.org to read about the history of Lake Hemet. Vision. Living in a planned community is based on vision. Creating an aesthetically pleasing community can sustain its residents. This includes a vision for amenities and activities. I can finally see the light at the end of this dark tunnel from this last year of an events calendar gone dark. Your Vision. Each of you moved into the Four Seasons having a vision for yourselves. Some may just want to keep to themselves never even visiting The Lodge or attending events. Some of you have envisioned your retired life with a full calendar of events and enrichment courses, a safe home base for your many travels. As we move into the future with a new set of rules, events may not look the same at first, but gathering together for entertainment no matter how we do it sure looks good to me! Just remember you may have been out of sight this last year, but you have never been out of mind. 4 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | APRIL 2021 | From Your Activities Director By Tracie Rodgers DRIVE-THRU SHRED DAY April 24, 8 am to 12 pm. There is plenty of space in the truck. To avoid the long wait, arrive between 9 and 11 am. Please no batteries or household items. RESIDENT SPOTLIGHT: YOUR CLAIM TO FAME. It is amazing the information we learn when reading a person's obituary. So many times we hear the comments about how we wish we knew this information before a person passed. In a community this size, we have an opportunity to meet and get to share common interests with people whom we may never have crossed paths with. Please submit a small bio and picture to the Herald (300 word limit) by the 8th of the month. Email submissions to hemetherald@yahoo.com. In February, the Four Seasons really showed its love to the Valley Community Pantry. During our Perfect Match Peanut Butter & Drive, we collected 180 jars of jelly and 196 jars of peanut butter. It was so much fun seeing the donations build in the collection bins (by far the heaviest donation). Thank you to Diana Cayente for creating this fun heart full of yummy goodness.
