Four Seasons has been home for close to nine years now and I have been involved with the arts from almost day one. I took every class I could because my retirement wish was to learn to paint. Paint I did. I think I have done well over 200 paintings and drawings by now and I'm proud to say many of my works hang in your homes. There is no better feeling than to have your work appreciated. My Gallery show displays an assortment of my works over my learning years here. The first painting that gave me hope that I was an artist was "Rural Mailboxes" to my latest one of "A Study of Pears" which encourages me to keep painting. Learning to paint also has taught me that the more I painted, the more there was to learn about painting. So I will keep on learning and trying new things since painting has been for my own enjoyment. My other proud accomplishment and honor was working on and helping to establish our Gallery Wall and Cabinet eight years ago. We have so many talented Four Seasons artists living here that this has been a way to help showcase their works. The volunteers and the positive feedback from our residents has been the motivation over the years to keep it up and running. My husband, Jerry, helps me with framing my paintings and is always ready to help hang my art and the other art of our residents' shows. They say art is in the eye of the beholder, so come down to The Lodge to see the artwork and to be sure to check out the cabinet for the musical art works of Gerry Edmunds. We have three new shows scheduled now through September. The Creative Spotlight: Nancy Hawkins It is difficult to continue to feel confined when spring is blooming all around us. We are blessed to live, and wander around in, such a wonderful community! Seeing many new smiling faces endorses that Four Seasons must be the place to be. We welcome you all, and hope that when we can meet together again, many of you will join our Gardening Club. Plant seeds of kindness and appreciation, and you will reap a harvest of purpose. From our garden to yours, our Late Bloomers Family wishes everyone continued blessings, happy plantings, and blue sky wishes come true.
