Village Line Dancers
We hope that everyone is staying healthy, and has been able to get
at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
We were pleased to learn that the Master Board has approved
renting a canopy for use on the lanai this summer.
Our members are always asking us when we can start dancing in
person again. We can say with certainty that as long as San Diego
county remains in the purple tier, nothing will change. However, as
the number of illnesses and deaths from the virus comes down, and
as more people get vaccinated, we are hopeful that the county can get
back to the red tier. When that happens, we are optimistic that we
can start holding classes on the lanai, possibly using the new shade
cover.
We had one trial class outdoors on Nov. 18, 2020. Christine's new
microphone and sound system worked perfectly. Everyone was so
happy to be dancing in person with Christine and their classmates
again. When we can get back to dancing outdoors, we are planning
to start with one beginner class and two intermediate classes. Social
distancing rules will still apply. This will limit our class size and
require that our students make a reservation so that we don't end
up with more students than the space will accommodate. Other
restrictions might apply. We will take our directions from the HOA
and the Recreation Department.
Early this year, the social clubs received permission from the Board
to hold a modified Do Dues Day outdoors. When the county gets
back to the red tier, we are optimistic that this plan can move forward.
For people new to OHCC, Do Dues Day is normally held on the first
Saturday in January in the Clubhouse in Abravanel Hall. Every club
has a table to display information about their club, and volunteers
are present to answer questions and sign up new members. Under
COVID restrictions, this event would be held outdoors. Our club
representatives will definitely be there so that new members only,
can stop by to pick up a flyer and briefly ask questions. No checks
or applications would be accepted. For more information about our
club, go to OceanHillsCountryClub.com, then click on Social Clubs
and then Village Line Dancers.
