FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | APRIL 2021 5 We were able to partner with Sun Lakes and the County of Riverside in the vaccination of many of their residents and our residents at a Sun Lakes location on March 1 and 2. Many Sun Lakes residents and ours were able to get the first vaccine, and they will be sent an email with a link to get the second vaccine when theirs is due. Also, I was notified that the County would be back at Sun Lakes on March 7 and 8 for another vaccine center for Sun Lakes and Four Seasons residents. The age qualification was 65 and older at the first two-day vaccination center, but they were able to take younger residents of the senior communities as appointments remained available. Thank you to all our residents who helped get the word out to our residents, and in many cases, assisted those who needed help getting appointments. We have asked for additional vaccination center "pop up" events until all of our residents and those in Sun Lakes, have the opportunity to get their vaccinations. More information will be provided as it becomes available. The Ad Hoc Power Out Committee is working on information on what to do in preparation for the Public Safety Power outages during high wind events, and power is cut off to prevent fires. They will also review, along with the Emergency Preparedness Committee, what we should not do if the power is out. Look for articles in the Breeze magazine, our website, and the Daily Report for tips on how to remain safe. The Contracts Subcommittee of Finance is reviewing pending contracts and proposals from vendors seeking to work in Four Seasons. Recently this committee sent the gate attendants proposal and our pest control proposal to the Board of Directors with their recommendations. The Board acted on their proposals, and approximately $34,000 will be saved on these contracts alone this year. As the Board of Directors, our goal is to look for the best pricing and service for the work that is required so our community remains the resort-like lifestyle we moved here to enjoy. Hopefully as the pandemic infections subside and as more residents receive their vaccines, we will be able to enjoy all of our amenities soon. The "Meet the Board" Zoom meetings are continuing with three Board members available to answer questions from our residents. The meetings are an opportunity to ask questions of the Board and get answers in real time. Anything that cannot be answered at the meeting will be researched, and the resident asking the question will be contacted with the reply. "Meet the Board" is on Wednesdays, once a month at 1 pm, currently on Zoom. The Daily Report will have the scheduled dates and Zoom link information, so plan on attending. The Board of Directors election is currently in progress. There are currently six candidates running for the three vacancies that are coming available on the Board. Please familiarize yourself with the candidates' experience, qualifications, and background to serve the Four Seasons community. Make your voice heard and vote for the candidate of your choice. It is important for our residents to take an active role in the decisions on the operations of our community. We are responsible for our budgets, cost controls, reserve, capital projects, landscape, and management of Four Seasons. Thank you to all of our committee members who volunteer countless hours to make Four Seasons the beautiful community that it continues to be. Be safe, wear your mask, and maintain social distancing. Be kind to your neighbors, and lend a helping hand to those needing assistance in our community. If you wish to contact the Board about an issue, you may either email us at theboard@ fourseasonsbeaumont.org or call me at (951) 212-8898. Message From The Board By Jerry Monahan, Board President
