FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | APRIL 2021 45
Computer Technology
Our next meeting is Tuesday, April 13 at 10:30 am via Zoom. At the
April meeting, presenter Bob Gostischa will be our personal guide
to 'secure' cyber security practices. Norbert "Bob" Gostischa, after a
successful career in banking, enjoys retirement as an enthusiastic IT
security expert, most notably for Avast, the creator of Avast Antivirus
software.
Bob will demonstrate how paying attention to cyber security
is more important today than it has ever been. He will show how
COVID-19 has exposed us to many more security vulnerabilities
than in prior years now that more of us are working from home;
many children are learning from home; and many of us are using
more Io-tech devices to make our lives easier. He warns that these
devices present dangers which need to be addressed immediately.
In his presentation, Bob points out specific dangers and offers
suggestions that will aid in keeping us secure. Using the right
programs and apps can help keep us safe and secure, as well as
reduce privacy exposure. This enlightening presentation will include
information on many recommended free programs. Using free
programs and apps whenever possible to accomplish this goal is a
bonus!

We hope to have a location approved soon and are working on
our budget to make it a great addition to our community. Although
still in progress, a steering committee is now meeting regularly and
we welcome Martha Tureen as the president. Martha is a master
gardener for Riverside County and we have several other master
gardeners who have joined the group. We hope to have a location
approved soon and are working on our budget to make it a great
addition to our community!
