FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | APRIL 2021 57 Kernville 2021, there we went! In late March, the Four Seasons Motorcycle Club (MC) headed out for a three-day ride to Kernville. As of the writing of this article, we had 14 riders signed up comprising 10 MC members and four guests. I haven't gone through the club archives to see if this is the largest group of riders ever on one of our multi-day rides, but 14 is a lot of riders! We will have details of the ride and pictures in the May issue Breeze. As for our weekly Thursday rides, we have been taking advantage of the relatively mild winter weather by going on some pretty nice rides. Over the past month we have headed out to Palm Desert then back home via the Palms to Pines Highway (one of my favorite routes). On another Thursday we rode to Borrego Springs for some Mexican food. Our route basically took us to Borrego via Aguanga and Warner Springs. The way home was along the Salton Sea then home via Interstate 10. Our most recent Thursday ride was a 240-mile loop around the Salton Sea with a stop in Brawley for some Mexican food (yes, we like Mexican food). Now that spring is here we can expect a lot of great weather and our options for our Thursday rides really open up. For example, it's been a while since we have been to Big Bear. One of our routes to Big Bear is by way of Running Springs. Another way is to head out to Yucca Valley then up the back side to Big Bear. I'm sure we will be doing both routes in the coming weeks. Also, we haven't been to the Santa Rosa Plateau in a while and of course, there is always the ride over the Ortega Highway for lunch on the San Clemente Pier. So many routes and so little time. If you ride and are thinking of getting in on the fun, give us a call to learn more about the MC. You can call club president Terry Humble at (909) 706-2298, vice president Jim Ayala at (951) 392-6259, or secretary Joe Bert at (909) 767- 1484. For now, just know that we aren't picky about what you ride. On any given Thursday you will see a mixed bag of full touring rigs, adventure bikes, sport bikes and trikes. ~ Jim Ayala, jimrayala95@gmail.com Motorcycle Club With the coronavirus having everything shut down, this will be my generic Breeze article until things get back to normal again and I have something to write about. Our Club has 16 members with an average of 10 players participating each week. We have relaxed rules about throwing distances, pretty much where you are comfortable throwing, so everyone can participate and have fun. We have Quarterly Tournaments, both Singles and Doubles, with the winners' pictures being included in the Breeze. We have quarterly social events, which consists of dinner at The Kopper Kettle Bistro at 5 pm followed by dessert at one of our member's homes, which gets our spouses and significant others involved and makes for a fun evening of fellowship and camaraderie. We usually cap the evening off with a rousing game of LCR (Left/Center/ Right). We're always looking for new members, so while you are hunkered down in your homes for the next several weeks, think about joining us. We meet at The Summit Wednesdays at 9 am fall through spring, and 8 am in the summer. Our contacts are Ron Erickson at (951) 846-3288, rejlerickson@sbcglobal.net or Gary Christie at (951) 845-0520, goldtoy@earthlink.net. ~ Ron Erickson Horseshoe Club Rolling into Brawley on a recent Thursday ride Found our favorite Mexican fast food eatery in Brawley On our way home on our 240 mile loop around the Salton Sea Ladies Putters Group The Ladies Putters Group wishes everyone a Happy Easter! The days are getting longer which means it will soon be time to begin our Spring season of putting. In preparation, you can sign up through the website for practice sessions on the nine-hole course. Regular and new members are always welcome! ~ Judy Irving, pli42pli42@gmail.com
