10 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | MAY 2021 | Start the week at the Jamaican Me Happy Hour where you will be treated to Small Plate appetizers and a Steel Drum Band. Purchase a cocktail at the Charity Bar while you browse the Veranda store for your Island attire. Jewelry, hats, shirts, flip-flops and more will be on sale during this kick-off event. One lucky winner will be drawn from pre-purchased raffle tickets for a ride-along in the helicopter during Wednesday's ball drop. On Tuesday, test your skills in the Hang Ten Putting Tournament outside the Main Pro Shop. Put together your own winning team and putt your way through an obstacle course. Wednesday starts with a delicious Paradise Pancake Breakfast served up by our wonderful volunteers from the H.E.L.P. group. There is a choice of seating times; 7:30, 8:30 and 9:30 am, so be sure to specify when you purchase your advance tickets. Stick around and watch the helicopter fly in for the Land Ho Helicopter Ball Drop. Don't forget to buy your tickets – eight lucky winners will receive $200 each! The Sea Monster Scramble takes place on Thursday. Eighteen holes of wackiness and fun on the Executive Course will be followed by lunch. You will not want to miss the Blue Lagoon Dinner and Dance on Friday night. There will be food and drinks, and the music of Tin Man's Heart, Bad Influence, Elixir, and Jamestown will have everyone dancing the night away under the stars! Saturday reveals a new event, the Seahorse Shootout. This is an elimination tournament that pits twosomes against each other for nine holes. Spectators are welcome to follow along in their golf carts as well and the after party is open to players and non-players alike. Advance tickets will be required. Sunday at the Beach is a five-person scramble, followed by lunch and a raffle drawing for cash prizes. All events are limited in capacity and are scheduled to be held outdoors at this time to comply with state and local guidelines for health and safety. The Charity Bar will be at all events and tickets are required to purchase drinks. They are $4 each or 11 for $40 and will be sold in advance or at the day of the event. Let your imagination take you away to warm sandy beaches and tropical island breezes as you join friends and neighbors for the greatest event of summer. Sun Lakes Charity Week, "Island Dreams" takes place June 7 to 13 and there is something for everyone each day!
