Start cleaning out those garages for our Spring Garage Sales. Sales are 8 am to 4 pm. Residents are asked to have any remaining items that did not sell back into their homes after the garage sale. Dates and district participation are as follows: May 1: Districts 1, 4, 6, 8-13 • May 8: Districts 14, 15, 18-23 • May 15: 2, 3, 5, 7, 16-17 From the Recreation Director By Elise Campbell Things are starting to happen! With the opening of more amenities including the Main Clubhouse and North Clubhouse pools last month, the Recreation Department is excited to announce a lot of activities for May including Garage Sales. Please see the details for each event listed below. We plan to roll out more events in the coming months - stay tuned! | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | MAY 2021 | 15 COMMUNITY SHREDDING GARAGE SALES ARE BACK! ICE CREAM SOCIALS Fri., May 7, 9 am-12 pm, Main Clubhouse parking lot: Do you have boxes of paper just lying around taking up space? If so, we have a solution for you. iShred will be on site in the Main Clubhouse parking lot accepting your boxes for only $4 a box (standard bankers box please). This is a great way to get rid of those confidential papers that you no longer need without having to drive to a place and pay a large fee. No sign ups are required. Just show up with your boxes. Join the Recreation Department and Recreation Advisory Committee the third Tuesday of the month for delicious Ice Cream Sundaes! Sundaes will be $3 for vanilla or chocolate ice cream with your choice of syrup, sprinkles, whipped cream, and cherries! Ice Cream Socials will be held on the Veranda from 2 to 3:30 pm on May 18, June 15, July 20, Aug. 17, Sept. 21. The Recreation Department and the Recreation Advisory Committee are excited to announce that our Annual Fourth of July Golf Cart & Classic Car Parade will be taking place this year! Please keep in mind that all events will be determined on what tier we are in and what the COVID-19 guidelines and protocols are throughout Riverside County at the time of the event. To enter as a Cart, Float, or Classic Car Parade participant, pick up an application at the Recreation Department Front Desk during normal business hours or request an application via email by emailing Elise Campbell at elise.campbell@ fsresidential.com. The theme for this year's celebration is "United We Stand." We will be awarding the winners with a ribbon and gift certificate to the restaurant for six winners along with a special Most Creative Award that we will be calling the "Bill Mock Award" in honor of Bill Mock. Awards: FLOAT: 1st Place, 2nd Place, 3rd Place CART: 1st Place, 2nd Place, 3rd Place BILL MOCK AWARD: Most Creative Applications are will be available beginning May 1.
