48 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | MAY 2021 | The Spring Bocce Tournament is in full swing with 52 teams playing with the Fun Runs rules: that is, two players from each team at opposite ends of the court and very limited movement. Players change ends when one team reaches 8 points. The refs keep the score, thus limiting interactions of the players. As of now, social distancing and masks are the rule. Whether or not that will be necessary for the Summer Tournament is an unknown at this point in time. Many of our players like the two and two set-up. For those who are less mobile, limiting the changing of ends to once is a welcome relief. This Tournament ends May 26 with play- offs on June 1 and 2. The Summer Tournament will probably begin June 14. Entries will probably be due June 5. This is all PROBABLY! Stay tuned — questions, call Dutch at (951) 845-0392. Tai Chi (Tie-Chee) is an ancient Chinese tradition that, today, is practiced as a graceful form of exercise. It involves a series of movements performed in a slow, focused manner and accompanied by deep breathing. Originally developed for self-defense, Tai Chi has evolved into a graceful form of exercise that's now used for stress reduction and a variety of other health conditions. Often described as meditation in motion, Tai Chi promotes serenity through gentle, flowing movements. The tradition of Tai Chi dates back to at least the 15th century in China, and the practice is based on the belief that balancing the opposite forces in the body (known as yin and yang) will encourage the flow of chi (energy) through the body to promote health. You may also find Tai Chi appealing because it's inexpensive and requires no special equipment. Tai Chi can be done anywhere, alone or in a group class.
