26 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | MAY 2021 | Sun Lakes Follies If you have attended the Sun Lakes Follies over the years you probably remember seeing this hard-working lady and former Vice President of the Follies… Ramona Albertine. What talent! What comedic timing! Ramona has assisted Sandra Etz as Assistant Stage Manager for the Sun Lakes Follies. As you can see by the photo, Ramona is the little short lady with the tall stool which she brings out and takes back in after a certain number. However, she does it with class. What a trooper! We are extremely lucky to have Ramona as well as the many talented people on stage and behind the scenes, who will be performing in "Sun Lakes Does Vegas" coming this fall on Oct. 1, 2 and 3 in the Main Clubhouse. We will let you know when we are able to resume our monthly general meetings. If you are interested and want to share your talent or just want to "help out," please contact Joanne Graham, President, at (714) 489-1946. The beauty of nature in the springtime is always so inspirational. It brings on the feeling that everything is right in the world. As I look around I see folks walking dogs and bees buzzing around flowers which brought to mind the subject of this month's Karaoke song list. I started thinking about songs with animals as the subject. Here is a short list of what I jotted down inspired by Mother Nature herself. Disco Duck, Rick Dees & His Cast Of Idiots Crocodile Rock, Elton John Hound Dog, Elvis Presley, Willie Maye Thornton Purple Cow, Doris Day The Cow Cow Boogie, Ella May Morse A Horse With No Name, America Fox On The Run, The Sweet Hungry Like The Wolf, Duran Duran Rockin' Robin, Bobby Day I Am The Walrus, The Beatles Walkin' My Cat Named Dog, Norma Tenegra Little Red Rooster, Sam Cooke, The Rolling Stones Hummingbird, Seals & Crofts Hummingbird, Les Paul & Mary Ford Bulldog, Beatles The Year Of The Cat, Al Stewart The Birds & The Bees, Jewel Akens Jonathon Livingston Seagull, Neil Diamond Blackbird, The Beatles When Doves Cry, Prince Butterfly, Charlie Gracie, Andy Williams The Lion Sleeps Tonight, The Tokens, Robert John Rock Lobster, The B-52's The Monkey Time, Major Lance The Spider & The Fly, The Rolling Stones Puppy Love, Paul Anka, Donny Osmond The Snake, Al Wilson Karma Chameleon, Culture Club Running Bear, Johnny Preston Baby Elephant Walk, Lawrence Welk, Henry Mancini White Rabbit, Jefferson Airplane Mustang Sally, Wilson Pickett Walking The Dog, Rufus Thomas I Go Ape, Neil Sedaka Hey Little Cobra, The Rip Chords Possibly one of these songs may be a tune that you would consider singing at a Karaoke event whenever Sun Lakes opens up the calendar for Rosie Ingalls, Barbara Miller and myself D.J. Blast to once again present our Sun Lakes Karaoke shows with you as the star that you are. We hope you have been revving up your voices for that eventual day when we will get together for singing, dancing, and friendship at one of our clubhouses. Until then we will keep a warm disinfected microphone on for you. Happy spring everyone. Karaoke Group Chorale The Chorale looks forward to meeting again this year. As soon as possible, we hope to have a "How the Heck Have You Been" party as a reunion for our membership. We are also hoping to start up again in September for our annual Holiday Concert. To maintain our connection as a Chorale family, we meet via Zoom every Monday morning at 9:30 am. We sing together and talk to our friends. Interested residents are welcome to join us. We have room for 100 guests. We join each other in friendship and sing songs together. For more information, contact Chorale Director Mark Faber at (951) 797-0120 or dmfaber@me.com, or Secretary Linda Vieira at (951) 797-0315 or lvieira@eltree.com.
