| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | MAY 2021 | 9 How exciting to wake this beautiful sunny April morning and know that we have moved to the orange tier and more freedom has been returned to us. I pray we are in the yellow tier as you read this and more businesses opened for us to enjoy. I will admit to using "writer's fog" as an excuse to enjoy a glass of wine at night while trying to put my thoughts down on paper, but last night my computer was acting SNARKY so I turned it off and am now stuck with a deadline, but please feel free to enjoy some wine (or whatever) while you read. Thank you to those that took my request seriously last month about availing yourself of the Bistro's amenities. Please tell your resident friends too. We would be lost without the Bistro and Francisco; he is present most days from 8 am to 7 pm. He misses you. It has been over a year and he really needs your help to gain back his business, repay his loan, keep his staff working, and replace his savings. He had special menu choices for St. Patrick's Day and Easter. Again, thanks to those that used this benefit, but it wasn't near what he'd hoped for. We need to get back in the habit of getting out of our kitchens and let Francisco do the cooking. Speaking of wine, you do know that you may bring your own wine and glasses? (NO GLASS on patio.) You may enjoy a sip while deciding your menu choice OR come earlier and enjoy one on the patio before dining. Please come out and enjoy the Bistro or take it to go! Six years ago when I moved to Four Seasons, I was so busy settling in that I didn't look at the Herald the first two months. Out of the 1,100 plus homes, I wonder how many residents ever take the time to look at the Herald? How often I will hear a comment, "How do you know that?" Answer — it was printed in the Herald! Again this year the Board has mailed two different packets that need to have our vote choices, signature and be returned. Then notices, phone calls and other requests must repeatedly go out as reminders to PLEASE return said envelope. Being retired means no paycheck, not that you gave up all responsibilities and are obliged to do nothing ever again! Thank God, breathing, eating and using the restroom come naturally. With that said, I applaud the volunteers on the Board of Directors, all of the Four Season's office and front desk staff for putting up with us residents, because we are a handful. They also put up with the meetings and wants of all the volunteer committees and small groups who naturally are interested in the betterment of their individual aggregate of people. We can be demanding of their time as though we are the only group they need to satisfy. Have I heard them complain? NO! It's been a long, hard year for them just staying abreast of changing regulations and keeping us informed. Yes it goes with the job, but it wouldn't hurt to tell them we appreciate all they do for us. So – thank you all for being there for the rest of us! That's me, Patt, double "T" Bistro Committee
