As you may know, our residents have been very gracious in donating goods and money to Veterans Village at March Air Reserve Base in Riverside the past two holiday seasons. The Village has one and two bedroom apartments for some individuals and families, and in addition, they can house up to 100 single men in an older barracks. The barracks rooms have no kitchen facilities, and they are especially grateful to receive small appliances of coffee pots, crock pots, electric skillets, etc. This facility is a transitional veteran program, and residents usually stay a maximum of six months. So as a result of their turnover, they are in need of small apartment-type furniture. If you have items you would like to donate, please contact Jackie Peterson at (951) 926-0152 or Quinn Hawley at (951) 325-2600. The volunteer coordinator recently gave us a list of items that would be especially useful. They include: • Metal twin bed frames • New twin mattress • Nightstands • Desk lamps • George Foreman grills • Hot plates • Electric skillets • Crock pot • Toaster • Coffee maker & coffee • Pots/pans • Dishes & silverware • New twin size sheets • New bath towels Thank you for supporting our community and veterans! 6 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | MAY 2021 | Ongoing Efforts For Veterans Village
