| THE COLONY NEWS | MAY 2021 | 23 KARA'S KORNER Movie Nights Movies will be shown in the Auditorium. New rules and regulations will be forthcoming in eBlasts. THE ROCKETEER Saturday, May 8 at 6:30 pm. (1991) Billy Campbell, Alan Arkin, Jennifer Connelly, Timothy Dalton, Paul Sorvino. In this stylish action-adventure straight from the pages of a pulp comic from a past era, a stunt pilot stumbles across an experimental Nazi jet pack that transforms him into a one-man air force – and soon becomes a target for mobsters, spies, FBI agents and millionaire Howard Hughes. PRETTY WOMAN Tuesday, May 11 at 6:30 pm. (1990) Richard Gere, Julia Roberts, Jason Alexander, Laura San Giacomo, Hector Elizondo, Ralph Bellamy (in his final performance). The story centers on down-on-her-luck Hollywood prostitute Vivian Ward, who is hired by a wealthy businessman to be his escort for several business and social functions, and their developing relationship over the course of her week- long stay with him. A HARD DAYS NIGHT Saturday, May 22 at 6:30 pm. (1964) John, Paul, George and Ringo. Features The Beatles in their feature film debut, and it is one of the greatest rock-and-roll comedy adventures ever. The film has a fully restored negative and digitally restored soundtrack. It takes on the just-left-of-reality style of mock- documentary, following "a day in the life" of John, Paul, George and Ringo as fame takes them by storm. GRAVITY Tuesday, May 25 at 6:30 pm. (2013) Sandra Bullock, George Clooney, Ed Harris. This science fiction thriller, directed by Alfonso Cuaron, who also co-wrote, co-edited and produced the film, is about two American astronauts, one on her first mission and one on his last before retiring. On a seemingly routine spacewalk, disaster strikes and the shuttle is destroyed, leaving them completely alone and tethered to nothing but each other and spiraling out into the blackness.
