8 | THE COLONY NEWS | MAY 2021 | HOA NEWS Presented by The HOA Board of Directors, Vol. 1, Issue 2 Thank you, Anthony Reynoso, Landscape Maintenance Superintendent for working with the water district and SoCal Water Smart in obtaining rebates of $440,000 in saving during the five year turf replacement project. We appreciate your efforts on behalf of the HOA. As a reminder: the golf course receiver has an appointment on March 10 with the court to provide a progress report on the course. Please note, there will be an additional eBlast sent for information to access the live stream. We expect to receive information about registering for the COVID-19 vaccine clinic in our community. We anticipate any day the governor to announce that Riverside County will move from a purple stage to red thereby allowing additional amenities to be reopened. The Board has agreed to a new three-year contract with our current management company (Associa). Terms included in the contract call for NO fee increase this year, a three percent increase next year, and NO increase in year three. In addition, at the expense of Associa, they have hired a firm to do a "space allocation" study in anticipation of refurbishing/relocating the office area, as well as other options to better use existing areas and expectantly provide additional space for recreation. There has been no discussion on the part of the Board toward potential moves until this study has been completed. This week a committee will be working to provide a Town Hall setting for information on the proposed Pool Pavilion Project. All residents will have the opportunity to ask questions and eventually vote (pro or con) on the project. Please note the March 18 Open Session at 1 pm. Your member comments will need to be sent to Kara/Kimberly by noon on March 15. These questions, as well as the ones read last week, will be answered at that time. Your involvement in order to be informed is appreciated. Your HOA Board thanks you for allowing us this new forum to provide information and transparency. We trust it will assist you in being better informed about the everyday activities of the Board. Presented by The HOA Board of Directors, Vol. 1, Issue 4 POOL PAVILION: An informational video will be distributed via Colony eBlast on April 5. The proposed Pool Pavilion Town Hall Meeting will be held April 13. It will include a Pool Pavilion overview video and a question and answer. A second Town Hall meeting will be April 27. Please send your questions related to the proposed Pool Pavilion Project to Kara Hardy at kara. hardy@associa.us POOL PAVILION – NEED TO KNOW: This project will require 794 yes votes in order to proceed with the proposed project. We anticipate ballots for the proposed Pool Pavilion will be mailed to the membership on or about May 1. If approved, funding for the proposed project will be comprised of a combination of Equity (surplus from prior years) and Reserves. There will be no special assessment needed to complete this project. No additional staffing is required. The proposed Pool Pavilion can be reserved for various community events and at other times will be available for use without a reservation. You can look forward to new community events such as Thirsty Thursdays and TGIF with live entertainment.
