18 | OHCC LIVING | MAY 2021 | As the number of people getting vaccinated increases, we see more people starting to make travel plans. Of course, motorhome or trailer camping provides a complete and safe travel environment. With the increase in travel plans, it is reported that many State and National campgrounds are almost completely reserved for 2021, so it is not too early to start planning trips for 2022. RV Club members have already got two trips working for 2022: (1) Ramona Pageant - sometime in April or May; an RV resort in Hemet will be the destination in order to enjoy the nearby Ramona Pageant. (2) Grand Canyon Adventure - May 14-26. Keep checking the RV Club website for continual updates on these and other trips and read the latest issue of The Open Road. Last March our club members watched a Zoom presentation by Fantasy RV Tours. This company plans and leads RV trips both domestic and international. The slides and videos gave us ideas for future trip possibilities and a desire to "hit the road." The photos included with this article are from the October, 2018, trip to Durango, CO, where members boarded the Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad and listened to some cowboy poetry. RV Club Garden Club Coming soon! This month we are happy to announce our Annual Ocean Hills Garden Tour. The tour this year will be unique because it will be our very first virtual tour. COVID has changed a lot of things but with the generous help of several Photo Club members and AV volunteers, this favorite event will be available to all Ocean Hills residents from the comfort of your home. You will be able to enjoy the beautiful and varied gardens via video on the Ocean Hills TV channel, and photos will be available to scroll through (and share) from the Garden Club's webpage. The photos and video should be on the OHCC site sometime during the first week of June. Special thanks to the AV volunteers and the Photo Club members who are lending their talents to put this event together for all of us to enjoy. And of course very special thanks to the nine community households who have volunteered to share their gardens this year. Once again… we find that it takes a village to get things done. And once again we are reminded of the wonderful sense of community that is still alive and well in Ocean Hills Country Club. Narrow Gauge Railroad Bill Beckley and Joann Bush
