10 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | JUNE 2021 | Did You Know? The access to our homes may be a little tight for some of our residents. The walkways provided when our homes were built, for the most part are narrow and only extend from our driveways to our entrance doors. Did you know that you may request a two-foot extension on each side of your driveway to provide easier access to your home? Likewise, some homeowners have requested approval for walkways from the street or sidewalk directly to their entrance doors, and/or sidewalks to the gate to their rear yards. Each of these items are considered modifications to your home, and do require Architectural Review Committee (ARC) approval. Did you know that water runoff from your sprinklers can, and does, damage our streets: remember that our homeowners association pays for all street maintenance for our private streets. The additional cost to repair and repave our streets comes from our homeowner association fees so the cost is ultimately yours. Please check your sprinklers and make necessary adjustments to minimize, or better yet, eliminate water runoff. Some believe running sprinklers for longer periods of time is necessary. This is not the case. For most landscaping, only a few minutes of watering is needed. Our soils have a lot of clay and for most areas, the longer sprinklers run does not result in the water being absorbed into the clay soil, resulting in excess runoff. Please be water wise! If you have any questions regarding these matters, your Architectural Assistant, Maria Donti is available by phone (951) 325-8188 or email (maria.donti@fsresidential.com). She is not now available to speak with you on a walk-in basis. DO NOT DO WORK TO YOUR PROPERTY WITHOUT REQUIRED APPROVALS. Thank you for helping us keep our Four Seasons community safe, healthy, and beautiful. Architectural Review Committee As we enter June it is a good time to check around your home and neighborhood common areas to see how well prepared we are for wildfires. The end of June is the official beginning of summer which is a time of increased wildfire incidents. Last fall we had a couple of wildfires not too far away from Four Seasons. One was in the Lake View Mountains off of Warren Road and another in Rienhardt Canyon. Be prepared and have a plan. And don't forget to go to the link fscert.org/pwrdependant/ for residents to register their power/oxygen dependency and to find out their Street Captain contact information. Our Mission: The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program is designed to increase individual and community preparedness and self-reliance in the event of man-made or natural disasters. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has officially recognized CERT as an important part of a community's disaster preparedness readiness. Four Seasons CERT continues to need your participation. Become a Street Captain or CERT Auxiliary. Step up. Be a part of the best CERT in the valley, come make a difference. For more information visit https://fscert.org/cert-volunteer Learn how to prepare at fscert.org. Plan. Prepare. Survive. You can help yourself. Emergency preparedness committee Facilities Committee The second half of 2021 will be a very challenging time, with material and labor costs rising at an alarming rate. The Facilities Committee is committed to the challenge; we will judge/calculate all projects with the need, cost and safety issue. But the most important thing is staying within the budget of our HOA. We would like all of our residents to come by The Lodge and tennis courts to see the recent improvements: Lodge: Back in August of 2020 the Facilities Committee recommended the replacement of the four lodge lobby chairs to the HOA Board who approved the project. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, most manufacturing plants were shut down and products were not available. So with the help of the Ad-Hoc Decorating Committee we were able to get and approve reupholstering the existing chairs. The Ad-Hoc Decorating Committee found a very good upholstery shop (local) and selected the fabric. PLEASE take a look! Tennis Courts: The lights have been replaced with the cost efficient and longer life LED bulbs. Also bird deterrents were placed on the top of the light poles. They are very unusual deterrents, something to see when a bird gets near them. As always, we welcome residents to attend our meetings as we have a homeowner input section at the beginning of each meeting. The Lodge office can forward an invitation to your email with the Zoom meeting link. PS: With happy but sad news we want to congratulate fellow member Fred Kydd on his election to the Board of Directors. Fred, thank you for your service the past two years and we know you will be an asset to the Board. This means we have a vacancy on the Facilities Committee. If you have a background in manufacturing, facilities maintenance or construction related fields and are interested in volunteering a few hours a month, please submit your application form to the front desk.
