| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | JUNE 2021 | 17 Thank you everyone who came to our May meeting. Isn't it great to be getting back to normal? Join us for our next meeting on Monday, June 28 at 2 pm in the Ballroom. I look forward to seeing you all again and welcoming new members. It's time we get out there and reconnect. ~ Lucille Gould, President, (909) 921-6067. FS Ladies Club Golf Cart Club It was/will be a busy six weeks for the Golf Cart Club, especially for the Flag Angels who put out almost 1,800 flags three times a year (Memorial Day, Flag Day and the 4th of July). The 4th of July Parade will be held July 3 in order to mesh with the Social Committee's "to do" on the 3rd at The Lodge. I always look forward to the parades and the creativity and spirit of both the participants and the spectators. I am sure that the cart decorations will be fantastic. Watch for blasts from Tracie and the flyer in this issue of the Herald. Kudos to Tracie (from The Lodge) for all her help and flexibility. As always, she is indispensable to the success of all the parades. Thank you, Tracie! I continue to need volunteers for Flag Angels. If you can help out, it would be a big help. If you want to become a Flag Angel or have any comments/suggestions or want to join the Golf Cart Club, give me a call or an email. Needle Me In last month's article, I mentioned that our friend Maggie Fussell was hoping to find someone to teach her the basics of knitting. I am happy to report that she was fortunate enough to hook up with Merilyn Burnside at one of our gatherings and is now happily knitting away. Although we're not quite sure what she is knitting yet (ha, ha), she did leave the meeting with a swatch about 3"x 5" and she seemed to be enjoying it. It's so nice to have some very talented members of the group who are more than willing to teach the basics to anyone who would like to learn knitting, crocheting, needlepoint or other needlework. Currently we have a couple of projects that we are working on. The Needle Me group has been invited to display some items in the Art Gallery cabinet at The Lodge in September/October. We are excited about this opportunity and hope that everyone will enjoy seeing some of our handy work. Then one of the members suggested making scarves and/or beanie caps for military personnel for Christmas. So, we have a lot going on to keep our hands busy. If you are interested in joining the group or maybe teaching some type of needle crafting, please give us a call or come join us in The Lodge Arts & Crafts Room. We meet on the first and fourth Fridays of the month from 1 to 3 pm. If you have any questions, contact Bobbie Davis at (951) 223-3836 or Maggie Fussell at (951) 388-7640. The Great Courses Club The Great Courses Series begins a new series June 1. Alexander the Great and the Macedonian Empire. The Great Courses series will show two, 30-minute video lectures each week. The meeting is held in the Theater Tuesdays at 9:30 am. Please contact Don Krampe at (951) 926-9005 if you would like to attend. Due to current COVID-19 restrictions seating is limited to 13 residents, masks must be worn at all times.
