| THE COLONY NEWS | JUNE 2021 | 13 SOCIAL COMMITTEE NEWS By Holley Graham, 951-377-3240 As Chair of the Social Committee, I would like to welcome all our new residents to The Colony, and to reassure you that you made a great decision when you chose to call The Colony your home. Within the coming weeks, as we prepare to "open up" again, I thought I would share with you a little about the Colony Social Committee (CSC). We are all resident volunteers who work directly with Activities Director Kara Hardy to coordinate, organize and execute social events for the enjoyment of ALL Colony residents. Our group is structured in such a way that allows our resident volunteers a flexible commitment level. Each volunteer decides when and how much involvement he or she prefers. So, if you are interested in creating some fun for all, come check us out. The Social Committee is always looking to expand our vision and explore new ideas and community events for the enjoyment of all Colony residents. We would welcome your input as to what social activities you, our residents, would like to see more of or what you would like to see less of. Please send your suggestions to colonysoc@gmail.com or call Vice-Chair Ramona Sanchez (951-239-8356) or me at the number above. Throughout 2020, our committee continued to plan social events for The Colony, but unfortunately, the pandemic kept us from gathering. We are ready to pick up where we left off, with a few modifications, of course. As we move closer to our reopening, we will be sharing more information on events we have planned TO GET THIS PARTY STARTED! COMMUNICATIONS By Greg Hill With the expected reopening of the Clubhouse, the Communications Committee is actively pursuing additional volunteers to help us accommodate the HOA Board meetings and special projects, as well as the various initiatives we've created. To help with this process, we're inviting anyone who might be interested to audit a Zoom meeting so that you might understand our approach and culture. We have many opportunities available if you're interested, and you do not need to have any previous experience. We're looking for people to operate cameras, sound, do interviewing, write, edit, etc. We are particularly looking for someone with knowledge of Adobe Photoshop. Just let me know at greg@ neotechstudios.com and I will forward the information to you. We meet on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month by Zoom. We are also changing some positions in the committee. Diane Frisbee is stepping down as Vice Chair and will be replaced by Ken Luekens. Diane has agreed to become our new Production Coordinator to facilitate scheduling of crew people for events. In addition, we are reorganizing the Communications studio to accommodate multiple editing sessions at the same time. Hope to see you soon in the Clubhouse.
