Hooray! Hooray! Confetti is flying and we are celebrating. We
have a new member of TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) who reached
her ideal goal weight in May.
That makes a total of four
members who have graduated
into KOPS (Keep Off Pounds
Sensibly).
Our newest member is
Cindy Gissel (left) who is
also our weight recorder. She
is dedicated to TOPS, and it
worked for her. We weigh in
each week, and she lost weight
almost every week.
She joins Pat Whalen who was our big winner for the year 2019.
Harry Henderson (one of our male members) joined KOPS last year
also. Pat Pendergraph, who achieved her goal weight some time ago,
is keeping it off by attending occasional meetings and lots of exercise.
KOPS people must maintain their goal weight for several weeks
to show that it wasn't just a fluke, and then once established, need
to attend only 15 meetings and weigh-ins each year. They also have
parties and lunches with other chapters in the area.
You may even find that a group like TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly)
can help you as well. We meet now on Tuesday at 9 am in the Ballroom.
We have eliminated our monthly $3 fee. For more information, call
Andi Henderson at (918) 497-6491. ~ Andi Henderson
TOPS
Our hikers in April motored to Indian Canyons in Palm Springs. This
is a favorite hike for cooler months.
The San Andreas trail followed a full running stream and high cliffs of
amazing colors and shapes.
We added the South Fork Palm Canyon Creek waterfalls to finish our
hiking then stopped by a good Mexican cafe for lunch.
Please welcome Brenda Steckler who is stepping up to be the TAH
leader. Many thanks Brenda. ~ Lynette Simonson, (951) 377-0392
