FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JUNE 2021 25 Landscape Committee The serious side of your Landscaping Committee. Front Yard Cost Centers is landscape — trees, planters, and lawns — that is maintained by our landscaping vendor. All work is subject to approval by your Landscaping Committee. We take this obligation seriously and while we listen to all residents' concerns, we cannot always accommodate individual requests with our HOA budget. We reserve the right to determine the suitability and the condition of any landscape feature in these areas and to determine replacement when needed. If you are an owner-maintained ("green leaf ") front yard the replaced costs of plantings in your planters are borne entirely by you; your lawns, trees, and irrigation are maintained by our landscape vendor. In the Springdales, as well as all common areas (slopes, parks, greenways, etc.), the land is owned by the HOA. All plantings in this area are maintained by the landscape vendor and all areas are overseen by the Landscape Committee and these planting areas are strictly paid for and maintained by the HOA. All decisions will be at the Landscape Committee's discretion with advice from our landscape vendor. Should a homeowner in the Springdales alter any of the common area surrounding their home the cost to return the area to what was planted by the HOA will be borne by that homeowner. The fun side of your Landscaping Committee. When I first signed on to volunteer with the Landscape Committee, I had no idea how much fun it would be. We walk an area of the community, weather permitting, every Friday morning. We walk up and down hills, on the trails and around the perimeter of the community, throughout the common areas, The Courts, The Summit, and The Lodge. And while we're walking, we talk and laugh as we plan for our community's landscaping needs. We truly have a good time together! Even our meetings are fun as we review the proposals created by our walks. We are all vested in doing the best we can to provide every community member a beautiful landscape to enjoy on their own, or with their friends and family. We have all learned a lot of different plant names, different irrigation terms, and some basic tree information. We are a diverse group. Personally, my background is in purchasing (within a water utility). Our committee also has (all retired) a nurse, a four-color web operator, a special ed teacher, an interior designer, a cyber security expert, someone who worked with non-profits, and a system software specialist. But the one thing we all have in common is a love of the landscape here at Four Seasons. Do you find yourself admiring the landscape? Do you often wonder how it happens? Would you like to join us? We would love to meet you! We are actively looking for new members. Join us for a walk on a Friday morning to see what you are missing. ~ Nanette Scott, nscott.sbdfarms@ icloud.com Landscape Committee (including Hector, our Park West representative, as well as two guests) on a recent walk inspecting the Fuel Mod area of the perimeter of Four Seasons
